Sasha couldn't hide her excitement, gracefully taking her seat at the game table.
Jasper and Yorick took the head seats, with Arthur sitting close to Yorick's side.
With a casual wave of his hand, Jasper instructed the staff to prepare some fine tea and pastries. Having been friends with Yorick for years, and now discussing their children, it was only fitting to treat each other with utmost respect.
Yorick's face was lit with a warm smile, the wrinkles at the corners of his eyes resembling open fans. He spoke with a joyful yet solemn tone, "Jasper, I'm here today to talk about Sasha and Arthur's wedding. I was thinking we could have it within the week, picking a lucky day."
Jasper, who usually had a bit of a rivalry with Yorick upon their meetings, nodded seriously this time. "Sasha has been with the Linklaters for a while now. It's indeed time for the wedding, but let me be clear—if you ever let Sasha feel slighted, I'll be there in a heartbeat to bring her back home!"
Arthur stepped forward, earnestly promising, "Dad, I will cherish Sasha with all my heart! Not just you, but I myself wouldn't bear to see her hurt. If she ever feels slighted, you can come after me with a bat, and I won't say a word!"
Jasper remained silent, knowing full well his daughter's feelings for Arthur, he wouldn't dare to argue. If it weren't for Sasha's happiness, he would have preferred to keep her and her daughter close.
Yorick, stroking his beard, presented a list, "Here’s the dowry proposal from the Linklaters for Sasha. Please, take a look. If there’s anything unsatisfactory, we'll make the necessary additions."
The Perez family, being influential, wasn’t overly concerned about material gifts, knowing the Linklaters wouldn't disappoint.
Arthur respectfully added, "In addition to the dowry I proposed at the Perez's doorstep—ten billion in cash, ten houses, ten cars, ten plots in Rivenwood suburb, a hundred sets of jewelry, and a hundred sets of clothes—we've included a hundred antiques."
Jasper, aware of the Linklaters' regard for Sasha, tapped his fingers lightly on the table, "The Perez family will provide Sasha with fifty houses in Sea City, fifty cars, several profit-generating companies, and an additional two hundred billion."
Yorick nodded with a slight smile, "Then let's set the wedding for the day after tomorrow. I'll start preparing the invitations personally. What do you think?"
Jasper, with a dignified nod, agreed, "That sounds good. The Perez family will attend Sasha's wedding without fail. We must celebrate my daughter’s wedding in style!"
After finalizing their plans, they left the Perez's grand hall. Sasha was just finishing a game with Finnian.
"Ah, you've beaten me! Not even a little mercy for an old man like me," Finnian grumbled.
"Next time at my wedding, you must come. I'll give you a rematch then," Sasha said with a triumphant smile.
Finnian's eyes sparkled briefly, "Look at you, all smug. You don’t get this excited playing with Jasper!"
Just then, Jasper approached and overheard, puffing up in mock anger, "Who are you calling an old man? And you dare say I play badly!"
But when he turned to Sasha, his tone softened, filled with affection, "Ah, Sasha, it's hard to keep a grown daughter at home. But even after you join the Linklaters, you're still a Perez. You know without saying – our support is always with you. Marry into their family, but live happily and joyfully!"
Sasha hugged Jasper tightly, "Dad, I'll always be a Perez, and your daughter first. Miss me, and I'll come running with Vivienne to see you."
