Joanna parked the car at the spot where Bruce had parked before. Then, she got out of the car and walked to the reef she and Bruce went the last time. 

Here, the scenery during the day was completely different from the night scene. 

Joanna stood on the reef in a daze, breathing in the slightly salty and breezy sea air. In front of her, the blue sea stretched as far as the eye could see.
