The Return Of His Unrivaled Ex-Wife (Joanna) novel Chapter 749

Chapter 749

Joanna’s voice suddenly became emotional. At this point, she was like a hedgehog under attack, raising its quills in defense.

Mr. Jameson and the officers exchanged awkward glances as they were taken aback.

She had always been gentle and refined, after all. Therefore, her sudden loss of control left everyone puzzled.

“Joann, what’s wrong?” Miranda, who was alarmed, hurriedly approached to inquire.

“Everyone, get out!” Joanna shouted hoarsely.

Before the echoes of her shout subsided, the hospital room door was forcefully pushed open.

Bang!

Bruce arrived, gasping for breath while his entire body was drenched in sweat. The white shirt clung to him, and sweat drops dripped down from his forehead in a steady stream.

His face flushed, and he took deep breaths as his trembling legs carried him to the bedside.

He had encountered heavy traffic on the way here.

Without hesitation, he abandoned the car and ran for more than ten minutes to arrive as fast as possible.

“Joann, I’m sorry. I’m late…”

Mr. Jameson looked at him awkwardly, then at Joanna, “Mr. Everett… well, we…”

“Joann, I’m really sorry. Luckily, the officers are still here. Let’s proceed with the procedures right away!” He unbuttoned a couple of shirt buttons for ventilation as he spoke.

Joanna’s eyes turned crimson, locking onto him with a spooky gaze.

Seeing this, he felt a chill on his back and quickly apologized again.

“Honey, it’s all my fault. I’ll explain to you later. Let’s proceed with the remarriage procedure first!”

Her gaze held a touch of ridicule as she uttered, “No need!”

With shock, he took two deep breaths to calm his pounding chest slightly. “Honey, don’t be angry. I got held up earlier! Look, I rushed back as soon as I could. Please don’t be upset…”

As he spoke, he sat sideways on the hospital bed, tenderly reaching out to embrace her.

“Mr. Jameson, where’s the agreement?”

“Oh, here it is!” Mr. Jameson hastily handed over the contract.

With a cold snort, Joanna quickly snatched the document.

Her eyes were filled with despair and emptiness now. She looked like a robot as she started tearing the agreement into pieces, bit by bit.

Bruce, witnessing this, gasped in shock.

He was indeed negligent earlier.

When Aria, who was severely ill, conveyed her last wishes to him, he was overwhelmed with grief, losing track of time.

“Joann, what… what are you doing?”

“Leave! All of you, get out!” Joanna muttered coldly, tossing the torn agreement at him.

He became apprehensive in an instant, and he hurriedly embraced her, saying anxiously, “Joann, what exactly happened? I know I was late, but there was an urgent matter that delayed me. I didn’t mean to, okay? I’ve already come back as soon as I could. Being an hour early or late doesn’t make much difference, does it? There’s no need to be so angry. Please, let’s not make a scene. There are people watching!”

Her beautiful eyes turned cold, fixing on him with resentment and despair. “Haha… Bruce! You are disgusting. I should never have trusted you again! A man like you doesn’t deserve my love.”

He was astonished by her words, looking at her with disbelief. “Joann, I shouldn’t have been late. I deserve punishment! We talked about being understanding and accommodating to each other just yesterday, right? Can you just forgive me?”

“Haha!” She let out a bitter laugh, unlocked her phone, and showed him the news about him carrying Aria.

“So, the important matter you mentioned was meeting your first love, right? Haha! One last indulgence before the wedding, huh? Wow, it must have been so intense. Otherwise, she would not have passed out. Was she so irresistible? Did she make you

burn with desire?”

She glared at him coldly.

After all, he had always been dominant in bed.

Therefore, it was not unusual for him to get worked up and cause someone to faint.

In the early days of their marriage, after he had wed Joanna, he inisunderstood her, believing she was playing tricks on him. Consequently, he would often resort to sex as a means to punish her.

This often left her feeling tortured and unconscious.

And now…

Having abstained from women for such a long time, it was natural that he found the temptation irresistible. Besides, his first love had taken the initiative to deliver herself to him; therefore, it would be strange if he had not cheated.

His heart sank as he hastily looked at the content shown on the phone.

In the picture, he appeared anxious as he carried Aria. Moreover, the headline was quite suggestive.

Boom!

Seeing the photo, his mind went blank.

“Joann, let me explain. It’s not what you think!”

“What else is there to explain? Was it thrilling? Enjoyable? Satisfying?”

Joanna spoke very vulgarly, using words she had never uttered before.

She had never used such language before.

His eyes flickered, and he stared at her in a daze.

“Mr. Eyerett, we… we should leave now. Once you and Ms. Haynes decide on a date, we can arrange another meeting.”

Mr. Jameson and the staff, who would rather not stay, quickly exited the room.

“All of you, leave now!”

“Okay.” Miranda and the servants were frightened, leaving the scene with their heads down.

After everyone had left…

Bruce’s eyes reddened with tears as he frantically tried to explain, “Joann, it’s not what you think. You have misunderstood. I’m not as casual as you think. I swear I have not touched another woman ever since your return. If I lied, may I be struck by lightning and never find peace in death. I swear! If I lied, may I be burned in hell! You must listen to my explanation. Aria

is…”

“Slap!” A crisp slap echoed.

Joanna slapped him hard, instantly entering a hysterical state. “Bruce, get out! I never want to see you again! Get out!”

“Joann, calm down!”

“Get out!” Her shout became a high-pitched scream while her whole body trembled uncontrollably.

Years of restraint and grievances erupted like a volcano at that moment.

“Get out! Ahh!”

Her piercing scream echoed through the entire hospital.

She had lost her sanity.

Throwing off the covers, she leaped off the bed and grabbed whatever she could find. Like a madwoman, she hurled a water glass, plates, and anything else within reach at him.

Clang! Bang!

His forehead was cut open, causing blood to gush out instantly.

Clang! Bang!

The glass coffee table was overturned and the coffee set on it shattered all over the floor.

Joann, don’t do this. Calm down…”

“Get out! Get out!” She lost control, stomping on the shattered glass as she rushed toward him, ready to throw punches.

Her delicate, fair feet were now covered in blood from the shards of glass.

“Joann, please stop. Joann, you can hit me, but don’t harm yourself!”

He was terrified, quickly lifting her in his arms.
