The Return Of His Unrivaled Ex-Wife (Joanna) novel Chapter 806

Chapter 806

“Alright, let’s not cry. We should encourage each other and be strong for Daddy.”

Davian wiped away his tears and said sensibly, “Okay, we won’t cry, Mommy, you don’t cry either.

“We have to stay strong together and send the best wishes for Daddy to get well.”

“Stay strong!” Joanna forced an encouraging smile and reached out her hand.

The little ones followed suit, placing their hands on top of Joanna’s, chanting “Stay strong” in unison.

“During this time, Mommy might not have much time to be with you. You guys need to study hard, alright?”

“Don’t worry, Mommy. We will study well and not cause any trouble for you and Daddy.” The three little ones reassured in

unison.

Joanna smiled in relief. “You are all such good kids.

“And make sure to take good care of your little brother, okay?”

“Yes, we know.”

Joanna bent down and kissed each of their faces one by one.

The babysitter also brought Devin over. “Madam.”

Devin had just finished eating and was babbling in baby talk.

“Is my baby crying?”

Joanna walked over to check. “Darling, come to Mommy for a hug.”

“Madam, you just came back from outside. It’s better to change your clothes and wash your hands before holding Mr. Devin.” The babysitter reminded with a smile.

Joanna hesitated for a moment, then nodded. “That’s right.”

Having just returned from outside, she might be carrying germs.

Devin was still young and had a weak immune system. She needed to be careful.

Joanna went-upstairs, took off her clothes, and then went for a quick shower in the bathroom.

Afterward, she changed into a clean set of pajamas and returned to the living room.

“Darling, come to Mommy for a hug.”

Joanna gently took her son from the nanny’s arms and hugged him affectionately.

Even though the Everett family had many servants, Joanna did not have to look after the baby herself. She still made it a point to hold her son every day, to be close to him, and shower him with maternal love.

She understood that if she did not invest enough motherly affection, her child might not be close to her when he grew up.

The little one held a pacifier in his mouth and looked at Joanna with big, round eyes.

Despite his small size, he seemed to exude boundless energy, igniting all of Joanna’s maternal love and strength.

Joanna’s heart melted as she kissed her son’s chubby little face, then playfully entertained him for a while.

At 7 o’clock in the evening, the servants had done preparing dinner. “Madam, it’s time for dinner.”

“Hmm, okay.

“Davian, Irvin, Lilia, it’s time for dinner.”

“Be right there.”

After a short while, four of them all sat in the dining room, quietly having their meal.

“After dinner, everyone should rest early.”

“We know, Mommy.”

After dinner, Joanna brushed her teeth and returned to her bedroom.

Every corner of the room still carried Bruce’s presence, and every item reminded her of the moments they shared.

“Bruce, how are you doing now?

“I’m really worried about you, you jerk, always making me worry.

“From the moment I met you until now, you have been tormenting me.” Joanna’s eyes filled with tears as she spoke, unable

to hold back her emotions.

At the beginning of their marriage, he had misunderstood her, treating her with cruelty and indifference.

Later, he used all kinds of inhumane methods to bring her back, almost driving her to the brink of a mental breakdown, making her feel like dying.

But thinking about it now, Bruce might not have been as terrible as she thought.

Looking at it from a different angle, he was just too extreme and domineering in his methods. Overall, he did not really want to harm her but rather wanted her to stay by his side. The problem was that she could not comprehend his intentions at the time, could not compromise, and could not reconcile with him.

Later on, the misunderstandings between them were finally cleared, and she thought they had finally found happiness.

Who would have known that he would lead to a series of troubles again? Over the past year, she lived every day in fear and anxiety, constantly on edge.

Thinking about it, he could be such an infuriating jerk.

But… this infuriating jerk had completely conquered her heart.

Joanna picked up the phone and repeatedly pressed Aria’s number but could not bring herself to call.

She did not dare to call Aria too often and was afraid that pestering her might make her unwilling to save Bruce.

“Alright, I’ll call tomorrow instead!

“Aria, if you really love Bruce, you must save him…” Joanna murmured to herself, filled with sadness.

But then she thought again, everyone had different thoughts.

If she were the one with cancer, she would do everything to ensure that Bruce and their children had the best life. From another perspective, even if she did not have children, she would not want anyone to suffer because of her.

However, Aria was not her and her thoughts might be different.

Time flew, and it was already past midnight.

Feeling a bit tired, Joanna turned off the lights and went to bed.
