The Return Of His Unrivaled Ex-Wife (Joanna) novel Chapter 897

Chapter 897

Joanna listened, staring at Harman in disbelief.

Was he trying to control her with drugs?

This made her feel uneasy. It was as if he was hiding something. However, she did not know what the problem was.

“I’m tired. I want to rest for a while,” Joanna said.

“Alright! Rest well. I’ll come to see you again tomorrow,” Harman replied.

“Yeah, okay,” Joanna responded weakly as she lay on the bed.

Prince Harman smiled gently and kissed her forehead before leaving.

“I’m leaving. Rest well,” Prince Harman said. With that, he got up and left.

After all, many relatives and friends were at the banquet, and he had to attend to them.

After Prince Harman left, Joanna restlessly tossed the blanket aside. She could not fall asleep at all.

She was inexplicably resistant to his approach.

Meanwhile…

Bruce and Jaydon were still on the train. Both squeezed in front of the restroom door.

Fortunately, there were no more incidents along the way. Although they were disheveled, at least nothing happened.

After a few hours of turbulence, the train finally arrived at the final station, a small city near the border of Saumi Cradia.

As it was a border area, security was relatively better.

Jaydon shook the drowsy Bruce awake and said, “We’ve arrived at the final station. We have to get down soon. Later, we will get to the bus station and take a bus to Saumi Cradia.”

Bruce rubbed his throbbing temples but did not say anything. He looked dispirited.

Seeing his discomfort, Jaydon asked with concern, “Hey, what’s wrong with you?”

“Nothing,” Bruce replied stoically.

He was running a fever now, feeling heavy-headed and light-footed.

The rusty nail had pierced his hips, and he had not treated the wound in time. It had become infected, causing Bruce to have a fever.

“Are you okay? You don’t look too good,” Jaydon said with a frown.

Bruce rolled his eyes at Jaydon and insisted, “It’s fine. There’s no need to be so long-winded.”

When Jaydon heard this, he looked even more resentful.

He could not believe how Bruce swatted him away.

Because time was tight, they did not dare to delay further and hurried to the bus station. Forty minutes later.

They arrived at the bus station.

Jaydon bought the bus tickets and a few bottles of water and bread.

They had not eaten much during the journey and were famished.

“Are we taking this bus?” Bruce asked in a muffled voice.

“Yes, this is the bus to Saumi Cradia,” Jaydon replied. “When we reach Saumi Cradia, we’ll have the opportunity to change to a better means of transportation.”

Jaydon was a romantic and loved to travel. In addition, he used to run an entertainment media company, so he had to travel for filming and had been to Celia previously.

So, he was somewhat familiar with the culture and geography of Celia.

“How long will it take?” Bruce asked.

“It’s about 120 miles, and it’ll take a little over three hours,” Jaydon replied.

“Alright! Get in the car!” Bruce said.

“Okay!” Jaydon replied.

After getting into the car, the two looked for seats and sat in front of each other in the first two rows.

“Here, have a bottle of water!” Jaydon said as he turned around and handed a bottle of water and a piece of bread to Bruce.

Bruce hesitated for two seconds but eventually accepted them.

In the past, he was very picky and strict with his diet.

He would not eat anything that was not fresh, visually appealing, or had too much seasoning.

Now, he had to eat whatever was available.

Three hours later, after a journey of hardship, they finally arrived in Saumi Cradia.

Bruce’s phone finally had a signal.

Bruce quickly found a place to charge his phone. As soon as it turned on, a call came in.

“Beep, beep, beep.”.

“Hello, Cherron,” Bruce said.

On the other end of the phone, Cherron’s anxious voice could be heard. “Hey, Mr. Everett. Why couldn’t I reach

you these

past two days?”

“I had some trouble with my phone; there was no signal,” Bruce replied. “Cherron, what’s the situation over at your side now?”

“Mr. Everett, I’ve been unable to contact you for two days, and I was getting worried,” Cherron said.

Bruce’s brows furrowed. “Enough with the pleasantries. How is it over there? Have you found any crucial clues?” Bruce asked.
