Chapter 966
Seeing this, Joanna felt even more suffocated.
However, she had always been fond of concealing her feelings. Even if she was unhappy, she would keep it to herself.
“Let’s go to bed!”
Bruce quickly moved aside to make room for her. He even stretched out his arm for her to use as a pillow.
Joanna lifted the blanket and lay down with her back facing him. Her petite body curled slightly at the edge of the bed.
Bruce knew she was angry and quickly leaned over. “Hey, honey, what’s wrong? Are you angry?”
With a hint of impatience, Joanna sighed. “I’m tired. Let’s just sleep!”
“Oh, come closer to me. You might fall off the bed.” Bruce promptly tucked his arm under her neck.
Joanna retreated gloomily. “Let’s just sleep, okay? I’m really tired today.”
“You can rest on my arm…”
Joanna had always used his arm as a pillow and slept in his arms like that.
Now that she refused to get close to him, it was obvious that she wanted to have a cold war.
Every time there was a cold war, Bruce would be the first to admit defeat.
Men were such magical creatures.
Once their emotions were captured, they would be fully ensnared. They would willingly walk into the cage of love and sink deep in.
However, that made sense.
In the interactions between men and women, it was inherently a game of power. Either side might dominate the other at any time.
“Honey, what’s wrong? Why are you angry all of a sudden?”
“I’m not!” Joanna tried her best to keep her voice calm.
“Why are you still insisting that you’re not angry? You’re ignoring me. You must be angry.
“Didn’t we agree to deal with our conflicts promptly and avoid giving each other the silent treatment?”
Joanna sneered. “Since when did I give you the silent treatment?”
“I know. Pushing back the wedding for six months might be too puzzling for you.
“But… this really isn’t the best time for us to get married.

“Believe me. I won’t marry anyone but you. Do you still not believe in my love for you?” Bruce said as he forcefully turned Joanna’s face to him.
He pressed down on her hands, making her look into his eyes.
Joanna looked at Bruce gloomily. “Don’t say that. It makes me look like I’m
forcing a marriage.”
“Joann, there are some things that are difficult to explain now. You’ll understand in the future.
“After everything we’ve been through, I hope you understand.”
“I’m sorry, but I’m unable to understand!
“You were the one who said that we have to be forthcoming with each other. But you’re clearly hiding something in your heart. Why aren’t you being honest with me?”
Bruce blinked his eyes, silent.
“Or are you planning to do something shameful behind my back?”
“Joann, you are still doubting my love for you? I’ll be very sad if you say that.” That made sense.
It did not matter even if anyone misunderstood him.
He only wanted Joanna to believe him. As long as she loved him, misunderstanding didn’t matter at all.
“I just want to know why our remarriage has to be postponed for six months.
“If you don’t want to marry me, you can spell it out. I don’t like your wavering attitude, and I don’t know what exactly you’re thinking!”
“Joann…” Bruce hesitated.
There were some things he really could not tell her for now.
The organization was very strict. Other than the people in the organization, no one else could know his true identity.
“You said that you’re going to Melta for a business trip. Are you going to see her?” Joanna could not help but ask.
It was obvious that she was indeed jealous at the moment, and she didn’t want Bruce and Aria to have anything to do with each other.
In terms of a relationship, Joanna didn’t tolerate any flaws. She would be loyal and devoted to her man, and in return, she expected the same unwavering
commitment from him.
If he couldn’t fulfill that or disappointed her, she would rather abandon this relationship altogether.
