The Return Of His Unrivaled Ex-Wife (Joanna) novel Chapter 968

Chapter 968

“We registered our previous marriage in the afternoon. In the end, we got divorced. This time, we must register it in the morning,” Bruce said as he carried Joanna to the walk-in closet.

The huge walk-in closet looked like a luxury boutique. It was filled with clothes, bags, and shoes from various high-end brands.

Meanwhile, Bruce’s side consisted almost entirely of custom-made suits, limited to black, white, and grey.

Bruce changed into a suit and helped Joanna choose a white sweater.

“Wear this! It’s more convenient,” Bruce said.

It was convenient to slip on the sweater and be ready to go. There was no need to match bags and shoes carefully.

Joanna took the sweater and looked at it before she exclaimed, “Hey, it’s such an important day today. I’d better wear something more formal.”

“It’s okay. In my eyes, you look best without anything on,” Bruce said.

Joanna tsked and rolled her eyes at Bruce in annoyance.

In the end, with Bruce’s convincing, Joanna changed into the sweater he had chosen.

Without even her teeth being brushed, Bruce rushed Joanna out the door.

“I have to wash my face!” Joanna insisted.

Bruce said anxiously, “Don’t delay anymore. It’s not too late to wash up after we get married…”

The two of them went down the stairs one after the other.

Upon seeing her parents, Lilia asked worriedly, “Daddy, Mommy, why are you in such a hurry?”

“Daddy and Mommy are going to settle something important. Be good at home, Baby.”

Lilia was dumbfounded.

Bruce had already dragged Joanna toward the garage.

The driver was on standby 24 hours a day, ready whenever he was called upon.

“Mr. Everett, where are we going?” the driver asked.

“To City Hall now, quick,” Bruce instructed.

“Okay, sure!” the driver replied.

After getting into the car, Joanna still felt drowsy.

She thought, “Are we really going to register our marriage? Would it be too

rushed? Or too informal?”

Half an hour later, at the City Hall.

“We’re here. Hurry up and get out,” Bruce urged Joanna anxiously to alight from the car.

After getting out of the car, Joanna was still dumbfounded.

This was all too sudden. She was not mentally prepared yet.

“What are you waiting for? Let’s hurry up and go in! It’s already 9:30. If there are too many people, we’ll have to queue,” Bruce insisted.

When Joanna heard this, she subconsciously tugged at his sleeve and asked, “Bruce, are you serious? Are you sure you’ve thought this through?”

“Silly, of course, it’s for real,” Bruce replied.

Joanna’s heart skipped a beat before she said, “Alright then!”

She thought, “In any case, we had dragged this on for so long. Some things just had to be done on impulse. The more thought put in, the more worried one becomes. Sometimes, biting the bullet and getting it done would settle matters.” The two of them entered City Hall.

It was a good day to get married. Many couples were queuing.

Bruce looked at his watch. It was almost ten o’clock.

Although they would be done by noon, Bruce had no patience to wait.

Hence, he instructed his bodyguards to cut in line.

Of course, whoever he cut would be lucky,

Anyone would be happy to let him cut the queue.

“Hello, may we cut the queue?” Bruce’s bodyguard asked.

When the couple first in line heard this, they furiously said, “How can you do this?”

Before they could finish speaking, Bruce’s bodyguard had already handed them a wad of cash.

Judging from the thickness, it was at least a few hundred dollars.

“Oh, okay then,” The couple responded as their anger instantly dissipated, and they gave up their spot.

A few hundred dollars was still a windfall for ordinary folks.

Bruce pulled Joanna to the counter and said, “We’re here to register our marriage.”

“Show me your identification cards,” the receptionist said.

Bruce replied, “Here you go.”

“Bruce and Joannal” When the staff saw their identification card, he was instantly dumbfounded.

He thought, “Mr. Everett’s rumors with his ex-wife had been spreading for so long. It looks like they are getting married again.”

“Do you have a marriage photo?” the receptionist asked.
