"Dominic, let's break up!"
In a forest on the playground of Jackinion University:
Sandra Jenkins was speaking to her boyfriend, Dominic Lewis.
"Sandra, why? What did I do wrong? Why are you so heartless?" Dominic asked emotionally.
They were classmates in high school and had been lovers since they were seniors.
Although Dominic didn't come from a good family, he was handsome and doing well academically. He was a nice guy. When he was in high school, he had naturally been a hot favorite among female classmates.
Sandra was not bad. She was the most beautiful girl in the class. Her grades were not as good as Dominic's, but she was definitely one of the best.
The two of them were often criticized by their teachers when they were together. Both of them had repeatedly promised that their relationship would never affect their studies. Moreover, once they were forced to break up, their grades took a hit. Hence, the teachers had all turned a blind eye to their relationship.
Just as they had promised, both of them had managed to get admitted to the most prestigious university in the country, Jackinion University. Many people were envious of them.
But Dominic had never expected that less than a year into college, Sandra would start to keep him at arm's length. Now she even wanted to break up with him.
In fact, from the beginning of this semester, he had noticed the change in her. Every time they were together, she would be absent-minded and come up with many excuses to refuse to meet him.
On one Saturday, he had seen her get into a playboy's car, but he had been comforting himself that maybe it was just a pure classmates' gathering.
However today, she had initiated a breakup with him, shattering his dream.
"Dominic, let's part on good terms and leave a good memory for each other, okay?"
"Sandra, tell me, is it because of Liam Holt?"
"So what if it is?"
"Sandra, Liam is a famous playboy in school. He got a classmate pregnant last semester. Didn't you know that?"
"Liam explained it to me. Both of them made the mistake after getting drunk, and it was the girl who took the initiative. Later, he compensated her."
"Sandra, don't believe him. He lied to you. He has been dating many girls at the same time."
"Well, Dominic, I'm here to tell you this today. Please don't pester me anymore. Goodbye."
Sandra was about to turn and leave.
But Dominic grabbed her by the arm.
"Sandra, listen to me. Liam is really not a good guy. Don't be fooled by him. Did he force you into this? Definitely! I'll go and look for him."
She shook off his hand.
"Dominic, don't lie to yourself. Liam didn't force me. I was the one who chose to be with him. I don't want to be with you. After graduation, I still have to make money to buy a house and a car and repay my debts. I have to work hard for the rest of my life. I want to lead a good life. Do you understand? Do you see this bag on me? It's the latest model from Louis Vuitton worth more than $1,500. It'd be impossible for me to have this in my life if I were with you. You could never give me what Liam can."
"But Liam is just playing with you. He won't marry you. There are many people who have been abandoned by him." Dominic was still making a last effort.
"Ugh, Dominic, it's not right to speak ill of others behind their backs."
A voice reached their ears. They saw Liam approaching them, dressed entirely in branded clothes. He reached out and wrapped his arm around Sandra's waist.
"Liam, you're here!" Sandra nestled against him.
Dominic felt heartbroken as he saw Liam put his arm around Sandra's waist as soon as he arrived and Sandra lean against him.
He knew that no matter what he said, it was futile. Once a woman changed her mind, it would be hard for her to turn back. He was not in the mood to see the two of them snuggling with each other, so he said to Sandra, "Sandra, you will regret your decision today sooner or later."
Then, he got ready to leave.
"Wait..." Liam stopped him.
He turned to Sandra and said, "Sandra, you go first. I'll come to you after I've talked to him for a while."
