Jimmy then coughed violently. He was in the worst state among the nine of them. He was just barely able to keep fighting. However, as time passed, he realized that his soul was being held back by a strange energy.
That energy was incredibly tyrannical, constantly attacking his soul. Even though it was not strong, it was very resilient. Earlier, he had used all the true energy in his body to remove that energy, but he had failed to completely get rid of it. It seemed like dragging the situation would only be bad for him.
Jimmy really wanted to leave the fog battlefield at that moment. He needed to quietly recuperate somewhere safe to get rid of that energy.
He said anxiously, "How do you think that guy's condition is? I saw that he was sent flying by the impact. Could he be heavily injured at the moment? Maybe he'll die if we pursue him right now."
Case frowned, taking a deep breath before he said, "I saw him flying as well, but it's hard to tell what his condition is like."
After he said that, Case stood up from the ground. He looked at the fog and said, "This might be our only chance! We can't let him escape!"
Following up with their attack was their only choice. If Fane realized that he could not beat the nine of them and chose to flee, then it was not good news for their world. That guy had a strong sense of revenge. As long as he left the place alive, it was possible he would want revenge in the future.
Then, many of them would end up dying at his hands. Furthermore, Case was suspecting that the six who were not there had all been killed by Fane.
Even though he did not know how Fane had managed to find them through the fog, Fane was still too dangerous. Fane was not just strong, but incredibly intelligent.
Case raised his voice and said, "Everyone, stand up! Follow me! We can't let this guy run!"
The nine of them struggled to stand up when Case said that. To prevent anything unexpected, they kept a tight group. The nine of them walked toward where Fane had been sent flying. With every step he took, Case felt his heart beat a few times.
That masked man was the strongest opponent Case had ever met, and the most difficult problem as well. If Case had known how strong that person was, Case would never have dared to challenge him, nor would he have dared to cut the queue. However, that was no longer something he could take back.
Suddenly, everyone heard a crunch coming from the front. They stopped at the same time as they stared forward. They could clearly hear each other's anxious breaths, even hearing each other gulping.
Even though the nine of them acted like they were prepared for a fight to the death, they were still incredibly anxious. After all, Fane was just too strong, the nine of them working together had not been able to kill him, and both sides had been injured again.
They were not sure of the injuries that Fane sustained and if Fane could still fight. They never would have expected the situation to be so bad, it was completely different from what they expected.
