Fane scoffed, not caring about how Lourain looked at the rest of them. Fane would not allow Lourain to be a problem when the time came. If Lourain decided not to do anything when they were attempting the challenge, it was still something Fane could handle.
However, if Lourain decided to sabotage them instead, then Fane would absolutely not tolerate that. If Lourain really decided to cross the line, then Fane did not mind giving him a deep impression.
Fane coldly looked at Lourain, "When we're attempting the challenge, you can hide behind me if you think you can't do much. I'm not hoping for the two of you to be all that useful, but it'll be fine as long as you don't drag me down."
Marth was stunned to hear that. He never expected the person who had been so quiet the whole time to say something like that. It seemed like Fane was incredibly confident in himself. Was he exceptionally skilled?
Just as his thoughts wandered, Lourain shouted, "What? What did you say?! Who do you think you are? What do you think I am? Do you think you're some hero that will save the world? Hide behind you if we can't take it? What a joke! Do you think you'll be able to pass the whole thing alone?"
The difficulty of the Seven Deaths Array was plain for all to see. Out of ten teams, only three were usually able to pass. It meant that only nine out of thirty were able to enter Violet City.
It had a passing rate of one-third. Quite a few people had failed to enter. Furthermore, of the teams that manage to enter Violet City, there would usually be at least two members that were skilled enough to make it. Only those that stood at the peak were strong enough to rely on their own strength to pass.
However, most of those with that ability had already entered. There was no way they would still be on the outside.
Lourain said coldly, "You sure know how to brag. Do you think we'd believe anything you say? If you have the skills of those that stood at the top, I'd believe you. I might have believed you if you told me you were an above-average warrior, but you're going too far with your lie. Don't tell me you're trying to hide your identity with your mask, and that you're actually a hidden expert. I'll laugh if you do that!"
Fane frowned. He had expected that Lourain would say that. If it was in the past, Fane might explain things patiently. However, he was not in the mood to waste any time at all.
Fane scoffed and said, "I don't care if you believe me or not, just do as I say later."
Lourain straightened to laugh, "Hahaha, everyone, come listen to what this guy is saying!"
Lourain felt like the masked man in front of him was just absolutely hilarious. Who did he think he was to order them around? He even said he would protect them.
Lourain completely hated warriors from third-grade worlds after everything he had been through. Even though he was the one who went looking for trouble every time, he would always pin all the blame on the warriors from third-grade worlds whenever anything went wrong.
