"Fuck! The darkness race has come to invade the Thousand Waves Space Sea!
This is bad!" the old man cursed, tightening his fists in the gory sight.
"As one of the most powerful super forces in this space sea, it is our noble duty to fight against anyone who would harm it.
If we don't, the darkness race will conquer our home. Everyone we cherish in this place will come to a bitter end! I cannot allow that to happen."
Just a few moments ago, he was trying to get Zander and his granddaughter together. But now, his expression shifted drastically. He knew how much power the darkness race held. At this rate, the best he could do was to minimize the damage and save what he could. For that cause, he was more than willing to sacrifice his life for the sake of their sect.
Then, he ordered Zander firmly, "Save yourself, Zander! Take Chloe with you! Escape from this place and go as far as you can."
Then, the old man's eyes softened as he pleaded, "I beg you. Please, take care of her. She is my only granddaughter."
Zander's heart crushed as he saw his master in this state. His lips trembled, muddled if he should fight with them or flee.
The old man knew that the darkness race was more powerful than they were, so he had a gut feeling that the Thousand Waves Space Sea might not be able to survive their onslaught. Numerous lives would be sacrificed if he wanted their sect to survive—most of them would die miserably.
However, Zander, his favorite disciple, and Chloe, his dearest granddaughter, were the people he could not lose no matter what.
He would do everything in his power to save them, even if it meant losing his own life.
"Zander... If anything happens to me, you have to rebuild the Bright Moon Sect.
It depends on you whether our lineage would be passed down or not. Do you understand that?"
the old man continued, his hands gripping Zander's shoulders tightly.
"No!" Chloe interjected between fits of tears.
"Please, grandpa! You have to escape with us! I can't leave you alone here!"
She cried in desperate tears as she begged her grandfather to come with them. She knew full well how dangerous their enemy could be. If her grandfather stayed to fight against the darkness race, it would be hard to imagine what would happen to him.
"Enough! Just do as I say!
Go!
Zander, escape with Chloe while you still can! Find a place where you could both be safe!"
the old man demanded.
Then, his voice softened. "Promise me!
Promise me you'll protect her!"
he implored, making sure Zander understood the fervor of his intentions.
"Master..." Zander looked at his master with his eyes widened. He seemed a little overwhelmed with the choices he had, but he quickly snapped back to reality. Right now, he had to set aside his emotions and save Chloe.
With firm resolve, he promised, "Don't worry! I promise you.
I will keep Chloe safe."
Meeting the dignified and expectant eyes of the old man, Zander gave him a resolute nod.
"Don't let me down."
The old man's features relaxed. At least, the two people he treasured would be safe from the assault of the darkness race.
Once everything was settled, he shifted his attention to the enemy.
Whoosh!
Using his bodily movement skill, he teleported himself to the battlefield in a flash.
"Everyone, come with me! We are fighting back against the enemy!"
As soon as he set foot on the headquarters again, he led the members of the Bright Moon Sect into battle.
"Let's destroy all of them!"
they all echoed.
The old man served as the leader of the Bright Moon Sect―he was the one who led their sect into greatness. He was highly respected by his subordinates that even in their deaths, they would keep on fighting on his behalf.
The elderly leader found a senior member of their sect and requested, "Take the younger members of our sect and let them escape!
If they were to perish, our sect would lose all hope to prosper in the future.
I've already asked Zander to leave the Thousand Waves Space Sea. Find him."
The senior member nodded his head in understanding. They had no time to lose so he did not argue with their leader any further.
He, too, was a powerful god of chaos, so he should be strong enough to keep the younger members of their sect protected if they were to be ambushed by other darkness race members.
Once everyone had their shoes to fill, the leader was now more than ready to engage in a battle against the enemy. He valiantly led his men in the battleground.
"Fuck these bastards!"
Zander looked at the people of the darkness race in the distance. This situation was less than desirable―his face was darkened and tremendous killing intent was emanating from his aura. He did not want anyone to die!
As one of Austin's avatars, he also had his memories with him, so his hatred towards this vile race was also shared.
As the fight progressed, a member from the darkness race felt something.
