Izabella had been in the hospital for almost a month. When she returned home, the villa was covered in dust everywhere.
Brett was in a hurry to get Izabella home that he forgot that the house wasn't ready yet. He quickly called a cleaning company and arranged for three cleaners to come and clean the place.
Izabella went upstairs, found her phone under the bed, charged it, and turned it on. As soon as the phone was on, it kept making notification sounds.
There were so many missed calls and unread text messages.
She checked them one by one. One of them was from the orphanage director, another from Mr. Briggs, and the most frequent one was from an unknown number.
The texts were similar. She clicked on them and already guessed who it was.
Ryker.
Last month, she had promised to go to the orphanage but was thrown down the stairs by Brett and admitted to the hospital before she had a chance to go.
If it weren't for these messages and missed calls, she might have forgotten about Ryker altogether.
She clicked on the messages and read them one by one.
"You said you'd come to see me. Why haven't you come and you're not answering your phone?"
"Why is your phone off? Did something happen to you?"
"Bella, please reply to my messages."
Just by reading these messages, Izabella could imagine how nervous Ryker was, waiting for her reply on his phone.
After reading the messages, Izabella cleared them. In her eyes, these messages were nothing. But if Brett saw them, he wouldn't think the same way.
Izabella sent a message to Ryker telling him that she was fine and that she would go to the orphanage tomorrow.
Afraid that Ryker would suddenly call her, Izabella warned him several times in a text message that if he called or sent messages, she wouldn't go.
