Twisted Ties of Love novel Chapter 128

What on earth made Brett good to her anyway? Just saying a few caring words and not divorcing her means he loves her? Like she gave a damn about that?

Izabella suddenly stood up, her body exuding an icy aura that forced others to hold their breath involuntarily.

"You haven't experienced what I've been through, so you think he's kind-hearted." She was still young and easily deceived by appearances.

At this point, Izabella had forgotten that she was only twenty-four and had been through all kinds of experiences in just four short years, tasting all the bitterness life had to offer.

"If he was really as great as you think he is, my life wouldn't be so hard now."

Did Brett think that by letting Jennifer, a stranger, say a few good words for him, everything that had happened could be easily wiped away?

Izabella turned on the faucet to wash her hands, feeling like everything was like water flowing away, impossible to get back.

When Brett came home from work, he asked about Izabella's situation as usual.

Jennifer said she was fine and then recounted the conversation she and Izabella had at lunch.

Jennifer carefully watched Brett's reaction as she spoke, relieved to see that his expression remained calm.

"You don't need to talk to her about this, she's in a rebellious phase and will only find me annoying." Brett didn't think he had done anything wrong and blamed Izabella's illness and rebellion for everything.

He had always been confident, believing that time could heal, and if he was good enough to Izabella, she would eventually move on.

A drop of water wouldn't melt an iceberg, but over time, even the tiniest drops of water could wear away stone.

Did Izabella think he wasn't treating her well enough? From now on, he would focus most of his energy on her.

The next morning, Brett asked Izabella to accompany him to a bidding event.

Izabella was a bit grumpy when getting up and covered her ears with the blanket when she heard Brett's voice.

Brett knew she didn't want to see him and found him annoying, but he didn't care, sitting on the bed to pull off her blanket.

"Get up, Jennifer has already made breakfast."

With the blanket pulled away, Izabella rolled her eyes and snapped, "I'm not going, why do I have to attend your company's bidding? I'm not your employee."

Brett finally got a response. Although her tone wasn't very nice, he was still happy and smiled at her, "You looked bored at home, so get up, I'll pick you an outfit, I want you to look good."

He said it without looking at her, picking out an outfit from the closet and putting it on the bed, "Try this, you look great in red."
