Brett spent the whole night tossing and turning, he got up as soon as the sky lightened. The first thing he did wasn't washing his face or getting dressed, but lighting a cigarette while standing on the balcony.
The ashtray on the table was already piled high with ash and cigarette butts. When he ran into Jennifer downstairs, he suddenly stopped her and asked, "Do you think I'm good to Izabella?"
Jennifer hesitated for a moment. In her eyes, he was good to Izabella, but after hearing what Izabella said, she wasn't so sure anymore.
Seeing Brett's bloodshot eyes, Jennifer's heart pounded. She put on a bright smile and said, "You're exceptionally good to your wife!"
Brett asked thoughtfully, "How can you tell?"
Jennifer couldn't quite put her finger on it, but she felt that the man in front of her did like Izabella. Fortunately, she had seen the latest news yesterday.
"Didn't you spend a fortune bidding for an island yesterday to build a theme park for her? 5.2 billion dollars! And she obviously loves theme parks," Jennifer racked her brains and gave numerous examples.
Jennifer indeed spoke from the heart. When she saw the news, she was so envious that it nearly killed her. If a rich and handsome man spent that much money to build a theme park for her, she'd be on cloud nine.
Thus, Brett was genuinely good to Izabella, at least not like some men who only talked the talk but didn't walk the walk.
Brett found comfort in Jennifer's words, and his gloomy expression eased.
When he went to the office and bumped into Liam, he asked the same question.
"Do you think I'm good to Izabella?"
This question left Liam dumbfounded. He struggled to think of positive examples, but all he could see were images of Izabella's pale and weak face. To be honest, he couldn't see how Brett was good to Izabella. But should he be frank about it?
Liam carefully glanced at Brett. His expression was as impenetrable as his thoughts.
Brett didn't get an answer and grew impatient. "What? Is it that difficult to answer my question?"
