Twisted Ties of Love novel Chapter 154

"Since you seem set on your own course, I won't say much," Izabella uttered, her gaze gradually darkening while maintaining her calm demeanor. She lowered her head and let out a soft chuckle. "Would you mind assisting me to rise?"

Her eyes appeared hazy and captivating as she glanced toward the bed, indicating her intention.

A smile formed on Heckter's face, but it gradually transformed into a sinister and malevolent expression.

Stepping forward, Heckter lifted Izabella by her waist. However, her weight caused him to furrow his brow. She was incredibly light, defying his expectations of a woman's heft.

Izabella compliantly rested against his shoulder, the smile on her lips growing more profound. Gently, she looped her arm around his neck, discreetly retrieving a small knife concealed within her sleeve.

She held her breath, her heart pounding so fast it felt like it was about to leap out of her throat. As Heckter laid her on the bed, Izabella suddenly tightened her grip around his neck and stabbed downward with the knife in her right hand.

She aimed for the artery in his neck. She only had one chance to strike tonight, and if she missed, Izabella was prepared for the worst outcome.

Her eyes glinted with a frigid intensity, and a tearing noise echoed through the air as the knife swiftly severed the fabric, accompanied by Heckter's anguished scream.

The pungent aroma of blood permeated the space, and the hand clutching the knife became coated in a sticky and repulsive sensation. Izabella clenched her teeth, forcefully shoving him aside, and slid off the bed, landing on the floor.

The entire sequence of events unfolded in a rapid blur. Tremors of both anticipation and apprehension coursed through Izabella's body, causing her grip on the knife to waver precariously.

She looked towards Heckter on the bed, only to see him clutching

Izabella's pupils contracted. She had aimed for Heckter's neck, but he had evaded her and was injured on his shoulder instead.

"Surprised I could dodge?" The knife wound caused Heckter to lose a considerable amount of blood, but luckily it was not fatal, although he couldn't lift his shoulder for the time being.

What a ruthless woman.

Heckter spat out a mouthful of blood, took off his shirt, and laughed grimly, "Izabella, you're done for. I didn't want to be violent with you, but it seems there's no need for that anymore."

Izabella was drenched in cold sweat, her rapid reflexes compelling her to crawl away, but he grabbed her ankle. She scrambled towards the bedside table, causing the lamp on top to come crashing down.
