Can you bear that?
Brett's eyes filled with danger, causing Izabella to tense up as she felt a suffocating grip on her. Her eyes were bloodshot, and her chest rose and fell rapidly.
Frustrated, Izabella cursed, "Brett, you despicable person!"
As he gazed at Izabella's pale face, he seemed to grasp something and smirked, "If you dare, I can make things even worse."
"Izabella, you better behave, or I'll get angry. If you do, I'll treat you better. If not, you'll suffer. Think hard about that."
Izabella thought back to that nightmare and her heart trembled.
Brett's lack of respect for her had been a constant in their relationship, and regardless of whether she mentioned divorce or not, the outcome would likely remain unchanged. With this realization, Izabella contemplated her options. Perhaps it was worth a try to fight for the ending she desired. "There's no need to overthink it anymore. Let's take it to court. I can't afford to waste two lives," she resolved. One life was that of her father, who had passed away, and the other was the child growing inside her. If it weren't for Brett's threats involving Lucas, she would have divorced him a long time ago.
Brett towered over her.
Izabella was determined to divorce him, disregarding everyone else and not fearing his threats.
Brett clenched his fists, suppressing his anger, afraid he'd lash out and strangle her to death on the spot. No one had ever dared to defy him!
Brett slammed the door and left, leaving Izabella alone in the once warm hospital room that now felt cold as death. In the sunlight, her face was void of color.
Think about Brett's harsh words, and that horrible dream of hers.
