Kaley still didn't know about Brett and Izabella's divorce.
Kaley's arm was still in a cast, but her other injuries were healing. In a few days, she would be as good as new. She excitedly sat up in bed and looked at Trista. "Go get the wheelchair. I'm going to visit Izabella."
"Ms. Cornett, do you want to go now?"
"Well, I've known her for so many years. It's only right to show some concern."
It was impossible for Kaley to genuinely care about Izabella. Her visit to see Izabella was simply driven by her desire to witness Izabella's misery in person.
Trista held great disdain for Kaley, who seemed gentle on the surface but was cruel and calculating in reality. Izabella was so much better than Kaley.
Trista could only think about it, though. When Kaley asked her to grab the wheelchair, she didn't hesitate to push it over. Kaley didn't even need help to get up and sit on the wheelchair.
The ICU was in another building.
Kaley's appearance naturally emanated a sickly vibe, and she appeared fragile without the need for any pretense.
Kaley looked at the building and wondered what she could say to win Brett's favor. After all, ever since Kaley's last scheme to frame Izabella for a miscarriage, Brett had been giving her the cold shoulder for several months.
If it weren't for the life-saving favor she held, Brett might have severed ties with her already.
Kaley didn't know which room Izabella was in, but after finding the room number at the nurse's station, she had Trista push her there.
She almost didn't recognize Brett. The man who was full of vigor just twenty days ago now looked wasted and haggard. His hair was unkempt because he hadn't been taking care of himself, and he looked completely defeated.
Kaley's heart twitched, feeling sorry for Brett but also unwilling to accept that he looked like this because of Izabella.
