"Is Izabella back yet?" As soon as Brett returned to the villa, he asked Adrian.
"Yeah, she's back. She should be sleeping in her room now."
She's got quite the nerve to sleep at a time like this.
Brett frowned, squinting his eyes, his face pale as if holding back his long-suppressed emotions.
Brett glanced coldly at the stairs and went straight to the bedroom without changing his shoes. The sound of his leather shoes on the floor was crisp and rapid, revealing his suppressed mood.
Adrian was a little worried, so he said to Tiara and the others, "You guys stay downstairs. I'll go up and take a look."
Tiara looked worried. "President Windham looked angry. I hope they don't start arguing."
Katie reassured her, "They shouldn't. President Windham loves his wife very much, after all."
There's nothing absolute about relationships. Once there's doubt, there will be a rift.
Adrian shook his head and quietly followed upstairs.
Brett came to the bedroom door and pushed it open without hesitation. The room was extremely quiet, without any sounds. He walked in and looked at the woman sleeping on the bed.
"Izabella." Brett called softly. His voice was not loud, but it was clear in such a quiet environment, even the deepening of his tone could be heard.
Under the influence of the medicine, Izabella slept heavily, not even opening her eyes.
There was no denying that she looked innocent when she slept, making him reluctant to disturb her. However, seeing the cake by the bedside, Brett's eyes suddenly blazed with anger.
He looked at the logo on the cake box and then at Izabella's sleeping face, thinking of the photos in his phone, getting angrier as he looked.
He swung his hand, smashing the cake to the ground. The cream splattered on the dark carpet, looking strikingly garish.
Izabella woke up startled, her eyes still foggy, looking at Brett in panic.
"Brett," she opened her mouth, but before she could say a full sentence, her wrist was gripped tightly by Brett.
