Izabella's got something on her mind, and originally she was planning to leave work with Brett and head home together. But now, she wanted to make a detour to the hospital for a thorough checkup of her body.
"I wanna head home first, is that cool?"
"Why? I thought we agreed to go home together after work?"
"I'm so bored here, and kinda sleepy. Plus, watching you work's not as fun as hanging out with Niki back home."
Really living lower than a cat, Brett grabbed her hand that was on his temple and said, "There's a resting area in the back, you can sleep there. It's quiet, and no one will bother you. I'll wake you up when I'm off work."
"I've got a thing about not being able to sleep in new places. I just can't."
"You sure you wanna go home?"
Izabella nodded.
She was insisting, so Brett didn't want to force her to stay. "I'll get a driver to take you home."
"No need, I'll just call a cab at the corner with my phone." Izabella leaned on Brett's shoulder, speaking softly and sweetly just like their cat at home.
She grabbed her bag, and although she looked calm, the hurried way she moved gave her away. She left in such a rush that she even forgot the food box.
Brett's eyes darken as he watched her leave. Not long after, he spotted Izabella heading not towards their home, but in the direction of a nearby hospital.
Why was Izabella going to the hospital? Was she feeling unwell? Or had she remembered or found out something?
In any case, her destination didn't seem to be a good omen. Brett immediately ordered someone to follow her.
