Twisted Ties of Love novel Chapter 254

Suddenly, a hand caressed her cheek, wiping away the tears at the corners of her eyes. "Having a nightmare?"

Izabella nodded with a tearful voice, "Yeah." Then she threw herself into Brett's arms, gripping the blanket tightly, feeling his warmth.

She trembled nervously, and Brett didn't know what to do. "What kind of nightmare made you cry like this?"

"I dreamt that I went to the hospital for a checkup, and the doctor told me I had stomach cancer."

Luckily, it was still dark outside, and the darkness prevented Izabella from seeing the change in Brett's expression.

"Dreams are the opposite of reality. You had that nightmare because you had a gastroscopy today."

Izabella nodded.

Trying to divert her attention, Brett asked, "Did the gastroscopy bother you today?"

"It did. It hurt. Even though it was a painless gastroscopy, I still threw up." She didn't tell him that she had vomited blood.

Brett held Izabella's hand to give her a sense of security, while his other hand gently rubbed her stomach. "It's still early. Let's sleep a little more."

"Alright." But Izabella couldn't sleep. She was covered in cold sweat, her nerves sensitive and fragile, her heart a mess. She didn't dare to sleep now, for fear of returning to that nightmare.

"Brett, I want to go home."

"This is your home."

Listening to Brett's steady heartbeat, Izabella gradually calmed down.

When she got up in the morning, Izabella went to take a hot bath first.

It was eight o'clock in the morning. Brett usually went to work at this time.

Tiara called her every day at nine o'clock to get up for breakfast, so no one would disturb her when she took a bath.

Izabella didn't bring a change of clothes with her, so after her bath, she came out wrapped in a short towel, exposing her top and bottom.

But at this hour, no one was around, and she was in her own bedroom, so Izabella just went out like that.

Suddenly the bedroom door opened, and Izabella stiffened and paused. Her hand, holding the doorknob, trembled.

The morning light seeped in, and the man, all dressed up, was carrying a tray with breakfast, just as usual, steaming hot.
