Twisted Ties of Love novel Chapter 279

Izabella suddenly had a thought. As long as she jumped, she could see her two children and the man who was always in her heart—Ryker. When Brett returned to the ward with a plate of Bolognese pasta, he saw Izabella standing on a stool in front of the window, with the window wide open, the cold wind rushing in, blowing her dress like it was suspended in mid-air. Brett's heart instantly tightened up to his throat, both tense and afraid to make a sound for fear of startling her, he softly called out "Bella".

Izabella's left foot was already on the window ledge, half of her body dangling outside, swaying as if she could fall at any moment. "Bella, come down quickly, it's dangerous there. Look, I bought you your favorite Bolognese pasta," Brett said, inching closer to her.

Countless thoughts flashed through his mind, Brett's breath nearly stopped. He hadn't expected that Izabella would have such thoughts during the time he was away. Luckily he had ordered takeout early, just going downstairs to pick it up, otherwise, would Izabella have quietly jumped already? Brett dared not think further.

Izabella slowly turned her body and sat on the window ledge, she looked at Brett and gave a faint smile, "Don't come over." Her usually gentle voice was hoarse.

The cold wind blew her long hair, her eyes welling up with tears, evidently, she had just been crying. Brett clenched his teeth, "Don't move, sit steady, I won't come over." Despite his words, his body was tensed, ready to rush over at any moment.

This was the eighth floor, if Izabella jumped she would undoubtedly die. What he had to do was to divert her attention and then quickly pull her down. Izabella slightly raised her eyes, her vacant eyes showed some emotion when she looked at Brett. She gave a faint smile, suppressing her trembling voice to speak word by word: "Brett, I don't know what unforgivable things I've done in the past for you to treat me this way."

"You said you don't know how to love a person, but that's no reason to hurt them. No one will wait forever for you to learn to love." "Have you seen the baby? He's so young..." mentioning the child, Izabella finally choked.

A sense of despair washed over the room, her tears uncontrollable. Brett wanted to say something but couldn't.

Izabella looked at Brett through her teary eyes: "You said it was to save me, but what you don't know is that I had already given my life to him, and you ruined my life." Brett shook his head, his face pale.

"Brett, don't you enjoy pushing me from heaven to hell, watching me shatter into pieces? Then I'll grant you that, okay? The world is so big, no matter where I go you would find me, but I know there's one place you'll never find." Her voice echoed in the empty room. Izabella finally fell backward, her body suddenly filled with cold air, losing all light and heat.

"Izabella!" Brett dropped everything in his hands and lunged forward, his right hand tightly grasping her.

Izabella's body was hanging precariously in mid-air, her slender wrist seemed as if it would snap at any moment. Brett tightly grasped Izabella's wrist, his whole body trembling, his face pale.

"Izabella, hold onto me and don't let go."

Izabella coughed twice, her stomach in severe pain. Blood spewed from her mouth like a floodgate had been opened, her condition was very bad. Her pupils were dilated, her gaze unfocused, she looked at Brett hanging on the window ledge, her expression pained.

The death of her child was a fatal blow to her. Although she had seemed calm in recent days, she was in extreme pain inside, as if deadly poison was about to engulf her at any moment. "Brett, I've tried my best." She had tried hard to live, to accept this life worse than death, but she couldn't.

She wanted to kill Brett, and also herself. But she couldn't kill Brett, so she could only end her own life in such an extreme way.

She who had lost her memories was like a foreign soul, not belonging to this world. Brett obsessively locked her in this place, giving her a glimpse of sunlight before locking her in a coffin, making her long for death day after day.

She thought herself foolish.

"I've tried my best," her short sentence caused him immense pain.

In an instant, he understood Izabella's meaning. She had found a way where he would never be able to find her—death.

Brett suddenly felt a chill in his body, though winter hadn't arrived yet, he prematurely experienced its icy cold and bone-piercing pain, his breath frozen to shivers.

"Izabella, don't you want to regain your memories? If you want to know who Ryker is, where he is, you must stay alive!" He grabbed Izabella's wrist with force, his nose was tingling, and he looked at Izabella's pale face through blurred vision, a few drops of tears landing on her face.

As long as he doesn't let her die, she must not die, especially since they are in a hospital, there are people who can save her.

But Brett forgot, doctors can save people, but they can't save a person who is determined to die.

"I won't believe your words anymore." Izabella raised her left hand to struggle.
