"The audience is the audience, and you're you. This is happening to you; are you just going to stand by and watch?" Brad York was on edge and fuming, while Izabella was nonchalant.
After all, it was him who had signed Izabella onto the show, betting his reputation on it.
"I don't know whether to call you magnanimous or clueless."
"I've never been magnanimous."
"Then what the hell are you doing?" Brad York asked.
Izabella leaned back in her chair, legs crossed, sleeves rolled up, revealing her slender arms. Her eyes were narrowed and as cunning as a fox’s.
"I'm just watching the show, seeing what kind of mess they can stir up. It's still early, Mr. York; just be patient for a couple more days and see the results. We can't let the free publicity go to waste."
Hearing her confident tone, Brad York had a hunch that she must have an ace up her sleeve to be so relaxed about the situation.
Brad York was itching to know, "Do you have a trump card? Let's hear it."
"I can't tell you now, but you'll know the day after tomorrow."
The day after tomorrow is when Ariana is going to hold a press conference, right? Is Izabella planning to crash it? If that's the case, it would be exhilarating.
"Well, if you say so, then I'll rest easy."
Izabella hummed in response, "Mr. York, I need to trouble you to put in a good word for me with Mr. Kane."
"He doesn't blame you; he has seen your ability. He even feels sorry for not being able to stand up for you." Izabella just smiled and didn't say anything.
These people jump around, the higher they jump, the harder they fall. By now, Izabella's past had been thoroughly dug up.
This situation was far from simple, and it was obvious that the puppet master behind it all was her agent, Graham.
The recording device she held in her hand was Graham's Achilles' heel. He wanted to get rid of her, but he couldn't do it openly, so he used a little trick to try and kill her with a borrowed knife.
At this point, even if she wanted to expose something, not many people would take her seriously. Instead, they would think she was playing the victim, and she would end up in a standoff with the company, leading to a total breakdown.
Graham had already sent her the contract termination. She could leave as soon as she signed it.
But if she just left like that, even if she managed to clear her name, it would be a loss. She hadn't forgotten her original goal. That was to get revenge for Bell Salotti and to investigate Kristin Lasley's background.
That night, Casey sent her a message, asking her what she planned to do next and offering to help.
But Izabella declined.
"Izabella, don't always try to shoulder everything on your own. We're friends. You can rely on me a bit."
Izabella stared at the message. It seemed that no one had ever told her she could rely on them.
From the moment she was born, she had a life hanging over her, and the only person who was kind to her in her family was her grandfather.
Her grandfather always comforted her, telling her to be strong and not to rely too much on others.
At the age of eighteen, Izabella took over the family business. She got used to dealing with problems on her own and not relying on others easily.
Because she knew that reliance could become a habit. If the person she relied on left, her life would be even harder.
