Twisted Ties of Love novel Chapter 47

Kaley was stunned. She didn't expect Izabella to have such a strong reaction, dumping the entire table of food right in front of them.

And she did it so fast that Kaley didn't even have time to put down her fork, awkwardly holding it, not knowing whether to let go or keep holding on to it.

"You're wasting so much food like this..."

Izabella laughed, "It won't go to waste! I'll just take all this to the trash downstairs and feed it to the stray dogs. They'll even wag their tails at me happily after eating."

Kaley's face darkened, feeling deeply offended by Izabella's words. Did she just imply that Kaley was lower than a dog?

In response, Brett abruptly stood up and tightly grasped Izabella's wrist. "Did you do this intentionally?" he demanded, his voice laced with accusation.

Izabella concealed the coldness in her eyes, turning her face to meet Kaley's smug expression. "I was merely being considerate," she stated, her tone laced with underlying sarcasm. "Since Ms. Cornett mentioned that the food didn't suit your taste, I decided to discard it all. It seems Ms. Cornett knows your preferences quite well. Perhaps she should take over the cooking duties for you from now on."

Her suggestion, though directed at Brett, was genuine. She wanted to avoid any further discontent in the future by simply allowing whoever wanted to cook to take charge.

As Brett got closer, Izabella could smell his elegant cologne. She used to love this scent, and had even secretly bought it to spray in every corner of her room, fooling herself that Brett was home.

In their four years of marriage, she had spent most of her time waiting for Brett, who never came back. She was foolish enough to use a bottle of cologne to console herself.

But now, this scent made her feel nauseous, even worse than the smell of dog poop.

"Besides, didn't you tell me just the other day that Ms. Cornett moved in to take care of me? My poor health can't handle the smell of cooking fumes."
