When it came to the stuff from the past, Patrick couldn’t help but sigh 

I’m at my wits end about this whole thing! You’ve seen the state our son’s in right now, he’s finally agreed to marry his secretary! But who knows if they’re actually serious or just pulling our leg” 

“What if what if I go and have a chat with the secretary tomorrow?” 

“No need” Patrick said, “if he’s really trying to pull a fast one on us with a sham marriage, he’s just trying to pull the wool over our eyes! Even if we find out, what will we do about it?” 

“At least we can save our son from forcing himself to do this!” 

“And then what? He still won’t get married, won’t find a woman! At least there won’t be any rumors going around that Emmett is a broken man” 

Sophia made a face, “Alright! I thought the secretary seemed pretty nice when I saw her today!* 

“You just want our son to get hitched pronto, so you’re seeing the good in everyone!” 

“Weren’t you the one who went to the company to find the secretary before?” 

“That was before I knew she had a kid! If our son wasn’t in this state right now, we Melendez family couldn’t accept a divorce! It’s not that I’m prejudiced, it’s just people will talk! Patrick said, “We’re getting on in years! We should let the younger generation handle their affairs! As long as we see Aiden grow up safe and sound, and our son’s career goes smoothly, we don’t need to make trouble for ourselves” 

Sophia nodded, lying next to her husband, “I feel the same” 

But after she turned off the light, she couldn’t help but keep thinking about it! 

After all, who knew how this whole thing will turn out? And when will her other grandchild be able to come back to her…? 

The next morning, Clara woke up early. 

Since Emmett was staying here, she couldn’t very well not make breakfast for him 

She was worried that Emmett wouldn’t be used to her cooking, so she went out and bought breakfast. 

When she got back, Emmett was already awake, standing in his pajamas in the living room. 

“Where did you go?” 

“To get you breakfast!” Clara held up her bag. I didn’t know what you like, so I just grabbed something” 

“I already asked Ricardo to bring some” 

All Clara could do was smile and put the breakfast in the kitchen, “Well, then you can wait for Ricardo’s delivery!” 

She looked at Emmett, standing there in the living room, and he seemed to have a sort of master–of–the–house vibe. 

Clara quickly shook her head, trying to dispel these strange thoughts from her mind. 

Emmett could never be the master of this house! 

“In the future, you don’t need to go out and buy breakfast, I’ll have Ricardo do it.”
