Revenge of the Hideous Lady (Xyla Quest) novel Chapter 98

After making each important point, Xyla Quest would pause and ask if there was anything Stanley Batton did not understand.

Stanley would always say no.

Soon, midnight came without them realizing it.

Xyla was nearly done with explaining the basics of checking a patient’s pulse.

After looking down at her watch, Xyla turned to face Stanley.

Right then, he was paying full attention to her. If she were not careful, she might even get lost in those captivating dark eyes.

After a second of zoning out, Xyla recollected herself.

“I have already explained the most basic stuff. Did you understand all of it?” Xyla asked.

“Yeah,” Stanley answered pleasantly.

“Really?” Xyla still felt suspicious.

If that were true, Stanley would be a genius at Chinese medicine. He was probably one in a million.

Nobody in the realm of Chinese medicine could possibly have more talent than him.

“Yeah,” Stanley answered.

“You… Are you sure?” Xyla seemed doubtful.

“Yeah,” he said.

“If that’s the case, why don’t you check my pulse?” Xyla asked as she placed her hand on the table.

Without saying anything, Stanley used his hands to shift Xyla’s face so that he could look directly at her.

Xyla’s heart started pounding as soon as he did so.

“What are you doing?” Xyla asked after taking a deep breath. Her body was trembling slightly.

“Didn’t you say that the first step was to look?” Stanley asked.

“…” Xyla was speechless.

“Well… Well then, hurry up,” she said.

Stanley remained quiet as he continued to hold her face up and examined her.
