“I didn’t ask you to protect me. I just told you not to mention me to the Killian family,” Heracorrected him. 

She was quite strong–willed. 

Bernard chuckled softly and complied, “Yes.” 

Seeing his smile, Hera inexplicably remembered the awkwardness in the car yesterday, and her checks med slightly red as she averted her gaze. At that moment, Bernard’s phone rang, so he turned to answer the call
