Rachel had been waiting under the scorching sun for half an hour when Hera finally arrived and was understandably annoyed.
Ever since she had been promoted to Rhett's secretary, her status had risen. Even Frederick showed her some respect. Yet, Hera dared to keep her waiting under the sun for half an hour!
"Did you get lost on your way here, Ms. Youngworth? You're quite late," she said sarcastically.
The security guard explained, "Ms. Davis, Ms. Youngworth arrived at 1:50 pm. But there was a delay—"
"And who asked you to speak?" Rachel cut him off.
The security guard immediately shut his mouth.
Hera gave Rachel an indifferent look but said nothing, heading straight toward the courtyard.
Rachel felt even more frustrated when she saw Hera ignoring her and stepped forward to block her path.
Hera stared at Rachel coldly. "What?"
Rachel forced a smile. "You're half an hour late. Mr. Rhett is in another meeting with someone, so you'll have to wait here."
Hera snorted. Rhett had arranged to meet her at his place instead of the company. Clearly, this meeting was for a private matter.
How amusing. They needed her help, yet they were giving her a hard time.
"Fine, then tell Mr. Rhett I won't be taking on this job," Hera replied coolly and turned to leave.
Rachel was stunned, taken aback by Hera's attitude.
Even if Hera was a renowned healer and a top-notch hacker, her skills would go to waste without someone to collaborate with. Rhett was offering her a high-paying job. Many people would do anything to work for Killian Corporation, yet Hera was turning the offer down!
