"Drive carefully," Hera reminded Wayne.
"I will," Wayne replied.
After sending Wayne off, Hera logged into the Divine Forum. During her search for suppliers earlier, she joined several groups.
As soon as she logged on, she saw someone in one of the supplier groups discussing Everly's high-price acquisition of certain herbs. The most recent message was from Ryder, "Everly is really impressive. She paid me enough for one herb to cover my profit for the next six months."
Shadow wrote, "So, are we still short on herbs?"
After Hera sent her message, the active group chat immediately went silent. Ryder was still typing when he saw Shadow's message. He realized that this person was the infamous Dr. Shadow!
He deleted his message and even considered retracting his previous statements. Though he had only worked with Dr. Shadow for six months, her reputation had brought him a lot of business. She was like his lucky star.
However, Everly, who was Youngworth Miracle Clinic's spokesperson, left and started her own clinic. She asked him to supply herbs. Although Ryder was happy to have a new client, Everly demanded that he provide all the stock he supplied to Youngworth Miracle Clinic to her instead.
While he would not normally give all his stock to one single client, Everly offered three times the market rate to buy the herbs. As a businessman, he could not ignore such an opportunity.
The agreement with Youngworth Miracle Clinic did not claim that he had to provide specific herbs every month, so as long as other herbs were provided, he was in the clear.
Hence, he supplied the herbs to Everly and bragged about it in the group. Unexpectedly, the rarely active Dr. Shadow showed up and caught him red-handed!
Ryder was now in a dilemma. If Dr. Shadow got mad at him, he might lose his status as Dr. Shadow's supplier. He remembered that he had also sold herbs to Everly alongside Walter and immediately called him.
Soon, Walter explained to Hera, "I'm sorry, Dr. Shadow. Someone bought all the herbs, so we can't supply them to you. I've gone around trying to find these herbs, but they were all bought at high prices. I'm also quite helpless."
Ryder also explained, "Same here. The herbs I sold to Everly were from the previous stock. I had planned to supply you with fresh stock, but I can't find the herbs. I wouldn't have sold that batch to Everly if I had known you wanted it."
Hera read their excuses coldly. These people usually revered Dr. Shadow. But they ultimately sided with money. She was curious to see how much the Chime family could offer Everly to monopolize the market for these herbs.
Hera posted in the group and even tagged Ryder and Walter, "Since you can't guarantee supply, there's no need for further cooperation."
Ryder and Walter were shocked to read this. They frantically tried to explain, but Hera had already left the group. Furthermore, several clients who had worked with them due to their connection with Dr. Shadow also cut ties with them.
