Hearing that made Everly subconsciously take a step back. But two other men immediately blocked her escape route, so she had no other way to run.
Knowing that she couldn't escape, Everly decided to be honest, "I don't have money."
"It's okay if you don't have money. Our company is very understanding. If our clients have no money to pay us, we always provide opportunities for them to make money," the leader answered with a smile.
Everly noticed his unfriendly smile and suddenly had a bad feeling. "What kind of money-making opportunity are you talking about?"
"You'll know when you get there. Take her away!" The leader waved his hand. The other few men ignored Everly's struggles as they shoved her into the car right away.
At 11:59 pm, Hera received a call from Thiago. "Everly has paid her installment in full, Hera," he said with a chuckle.
Hera was in the study, watching Bernard give suggestions for her design draft. She asked calmly, "Is she still alive?"
"Of course, she's still alive. We're a civilized society now, so how could I simply kill her? That would be against the law. I don't do such unlawful things! I'm a good citizen," Thiago said with a laugh.
Hera stayed silent for a moment before saying, "Say that again."
"Sure. I could repeat it ten times. It's not a problem. I'm a good citizen…" Thiago kept repeating on the phone with a laugh.
Meanwhile, there was a stage behind him. A spotlight shone on the white birdcage that stood ten feet high. A woman dressed in a sexy rabbit costume was locked inside.
