William held Tiffany's hand, pulling her toward Vincent and Eric. "Vince, Mr. Cobb."
Eric beamed. "Oh, you don't have to be so polite with me. You can call me Eric once we're done with this meal!"
"Sure." William nodded. "Eric."
"Attaboy!" Eric let out a booming laugh. He was beyond excited. Who wouldn't be when they could latch onto a family like the Lewises?
Something occurred to him once he got over his excitement. "William, is Mr. Lewis your brother? Oh, right. You're both Lewises. What a coincidence! That means we'll be one big family once Tiff marries your brother, Mr. Lewis!"
Vincent gave him an icy look. "Who are you calling family?"
Eric was rendered speechless. He was about to say something when William said, "No matter what happens, you'll always be my brother."
Eric's gaze traveled between him and Vincent. So, Vincent hadn't been speaking to him? Why was the tension between the brothers so thick?
Vincent snorted and looked away. When his gaze swept over Tiffany's and William's interlaced hands, he scowled irritably.
William tightened his grip on Tiffany's hand as if he was afraid she would break free. His gaze didn't leave Vincent's face. "I hope you'll be more caring toward Tiff when she's at work, Vince."
"I can take care of myself. There's no need to trouble Mr. Lewis," Tiffany said.
Vincent's scowl deepened. Her words were a bigger blow than William's provocation.
"Vincent." Kelly's hips swayed as she approached them. She stood beside Vincent and naturally linked arms with him.
"Here you two are, Tiff, William," she said. "Mrs. Lewis was just talking about you two hiding in a corner and whispering sweet nothings to each other."
