The police officer nodded and had someone lead them to the roof.
While riding up in the elevator, Tiffany kept trying to call Teresa, to no avail. She was on the verge of a breakdown.
The hospital building was 32 stories high. The elevator didn't go all the way to the rooftop, so once they got to the top floor, they had to climb up a flight of stairs.
Tiffany was so terrified that her knees were wobbly. Despite clutching the handrail, she couldn't even step forward. Noticing this, Vincent bent down and picked her up.
She stared at him in shock, but he didn't look at her. Instead, he hurried up to the rooftop while carrying her.
Upon arrival, they were greeted by a gust of wind.
Vincent set Tiffany down before taking off his jacket and putting it around her shoulders.
"Tiff?" Teresa called out in surprise. She was standing on the side with two other police officers.
"Teri!" Tiffany exclaimed as she ran up to Teresa and hugged her. "How could you even think of doing something so foolish? No matter what happens, you're not allowed to abandon me!"
She even started wailing as the dread of losing Teresa sank in, suffocating her.
Bewildered at first, Teresa soon began patting Tiffany comfortingly while saying, "I think you misunderstood. I'm not the one who wants to jump."
Still teary-eyed, Tiffany asked, "Really? It's not you?"
"Yeah."
Teresa was just about to explain the situation when a police officer came over and said, "He's in a volatile state right now, and he insists on talking to you."
Just then, a familiar voice rang out.
"Teri, I'm going to count to ten! If you don't come over, I'll jump!"
Tiffany's eyes widened in shock. "Eric's the one who's on the ledge right now?"
She couldn't believe he was the one who was threatening to jump off the building.
"One!"
