Brianna's gaze swept across the dingy motel parking lot near the college.
Satisfied that no one could identify her, she approached a familiar room and knocked. The door whipped open, and a hand yanked her inside.
The room was shrouded in darkness. Jenson pinned her against the wall, his touch and kisses hot on her skin.
But then, something cold and sharp met his neck—the tip of Brianna's fruit knife.
Jenson slowly released her, his smile chilling. "Would you really use that on me?"
"Jenson, I didn't want this, but you left me no choice!" Brianna didn't mince her words. "Take out your phone. Delete those videos and photos. Now!"
"And if I don't?" Jenson replied calmly.
Brianna gritted her teeth. "Jenson, please. We had good times, but it's over. I've found someone better. Can't you just let me go? Stop clinging to me like duct tape."
"Duct tape? Brianna, you used to love how I clung to you. You swore you'd stay with me through thick and thin, forever! Did you forget so easily?"
"I didn't! But I deserve a choice! Jenson, we'd been together so long; you can't even offer a decent roof over our heads, yet you talk about forever?
"William can give me everything you can't. I want a better life, and there's nothing wrong with that!"
Jenson's laugh was brittle. "So, in the end, I'm nothing to you."
"That's right! You were just a distraction!" Brianna's agitation flared. She pressed the knife harder, slicing Jenson's neck.
Blood trickled down, but Brianna merely paused briefly, her face a mask of cold determination.
"Brianna, remember what you said today!" Jenson's fingers flew across his phone, deleting two photos.
