You Complete Me novel (Skylar and Coralie) novel Chapter 539

Marvin's grave was not far away.

It was a particularly windy day. When Lucille and Franklin arrived, the cemetery was cold, eerie, and empty. Not a single soul could be seen.

He walked with her and they went all the way to Marvin's grave.

Lucille stood there and stared at the tombstone. Her eyes got wet immediately.

The cemetery in the south of the city was a public cemetery, and all the tombstones there had to be bought from a company. There were five different price tags, and each price had distinct tombstones.

Generally speaking, normal families would buy third grade tombs. Hence, most of the tombstones that Lucille saw were the same.

However, when she reached Marvin's tombstone, she saw that it was just a thin and small tombstone that was not obvious at all. She was furious!

In all her years in the art academy, the Jules Group made use of the money they borrowed with her name a few years back. They received a handful of good projects and rapidly expanded. Even if Marvin's wealth couldn't be handed over to Alma at once, the money she had was more than enough for a better tombstone than this insignificant one!

"She's gone too far..."

Lucille stood in front of the tombstone, and even her shoulders were shaking with anger.

"I will find someone to change it for you in a few days." Franklin had no feelings for Marvin, but he felt uncomfortable seeing Lucille like this.

She nodded. She went to the tombstone, slowly knelt, and raised the bouquet she brought. "Dad, I'm sorry, I could not see you in your final moments. Dad, this is all my fault. I should not have estranged myself from you in a fit of anger, but Master Zane and I are really innocent. He is only my master, and I am his apprentice. He knew that I did not have a place to live, so he took me in. Soon, I bought a house and moved out too..."

Lucille's mind was a little confused, and she could only speak the words in her mind. She wanted to tell Marvin what he needed to hear. She said every word clearly, bit by bit, hoping that he could hear all of it.

Franklin waited by the side until she finished speaking.

They were about to leave when she was done talking. Suddenly, someone from behind them ran over and shouted, "So it's true that they are here! Hurry, take some photos!"

As that person shouted, flashes and cameras clicking were heard.

Lucille and Franklin turned around. They knew that the media was there.

Lucille's mind was a little blank. She was greatly pressured by the previous events and wanted to run. However, Franklin stood in front of her and asked the two paparazzi, "She is here to visit her father. What's there to take photos about?"

"Visit her father? Someone like her never even accompanied the old man when he was alive, yet she is putting on an act now that he's dead. Who is she trying to show it to?"

The male reporter who was holding the camera continued to take photos.

"Stop taking photos! What you see is real. You are a reporter. How much of the news on the Internet is fake, and how much of it has been twisted to fit your perspective? Aren't you the clearest about it?"

Franklin raised his hand to block his camera. The two of them must have been a team, and they must have just been trying their luck at Marvin's cemetery.

"Well, there is even a recording of that. Do you think that audio recordings can be faked? If so, why won't you say it?" The reporter said so.

"We don't have any evidence. What are we supposed to say? Should I record everything I say as well?"

Lucille could not help but refute.

She really couldn't do anything about this. She could not even speak out her grievances.

"Evidence? You never even said anything. Now, all the evidence says that you are that kind of person. What else do you have to say?" The reporter refused to back down.

"The other party has obviously prepared beforehand. They are handling the direction of this matter. What exactly happened? You people from the media should be clearest about it. She is the victim. How could you treat a victim like this, and what are you going to write this time? Alma pretended to be on good terms with Marvin, yet she bought him the cheapest tombstone!"

Franklin was rational. He could provide the most persuasive evidence.

The reporters had been there several times, so they had known what kind of tombstone Marvin had. They looked up once more, and the two of them were speechless for a moment.

"Alright, we will leave now. You'd better take photos of the tombstones and write a notice. In a few days, we will find evidence and overthrow everything Alma had said and done."

After Franklin finished speaking, he pulled Lucille to their car.

The two reporters looked at each other. In the end, they still decided to follow his orders. They took photos of the tombstone as it was best to take extra precautions.
