Chapter 1974: The Wedding Celebration

The next day.

All of Joyce's medical checks came back clear, and she was discharged from the hospital to go home.

Luther personally drove her back, with Cecelia waiting at home and having beautifully decorated the house.

Opening the door, you could feel the festive atmosphere, sweeping away any previous gloom.

It happened to be a weekend, so Anderson and Alisha didn't have to go to school or take time off.

Early in the morning, Alisha got up to help her grandmother decorate. They bought many flowers, arranged them in vases, and placed them around the house. Even in winter, one could feel the breath of spring.

Meanwhile, Anderson helped set up the nursery at home, ensuring everything was ready for when the younger siblings returned in a few days.

Upon Joyce's arrival home, Alisha ran up first and threw herself into her mother's arms. "Mommy, welcome back. Do you like the surprise I prepared for you?"

Joyce's heart warmed as she hugged Alisha and kissed her cheek. "I love it, Alisha. Mommy really likes it."

Looking around, Luther admired the festive decorations prepared for Joyce's arrival, all thanks to Cecelia's efforts.

In the living room, Joyce set Alisha down and turned to Cecelia. "Mom, you're already so busy, and yet, you went through all this effort with the decorations. You must be exhausted."

Cecelia waved it off. "This is nothing, how could it tire me out? By the way, the nursery is all set up, and Andres helped too. I have something to discuss with you. When it comes to hiring household staff, caution is necessary. I brought two nannies from the Capital, both relatives of military warlords, so they should be relatively reliable. However, two nannies may not be enough. We still need to hire two or three more month nannies. Hiring people isn't difficult; what's challenging is conducting thorough background checks."

"I've already made arrangements yesterday, and people will come for interviews today. However, it's best if they don't come to the house for the interview," Luther mentioned, "I've arranged a meeting room in the group's office. I'd appreciate it if you could go and interview them personally. As for background checks, you select the candidates, and I will arrange for the checks."

Joyce furrowed her brows. "I'm worried about falsified documents. Grayson's background was thoroughly checked at the time, but there were no flaws. But in reality, he's not even from Gon Macreddin."

"We have limited information on foreigners. If they're locals from Khebury, it would be easier. We can conduct peripheral investigations into their identities," Luther explained.

"We don't need so many people. How about getting them from the warlords? Instead of hiring from outside?" Joyce suggested.

"That's not possible. Even people within the warlords' ranks cannot be entirely trusted. If someone has already infiltrated and we're unaware, the trouble would be greater. That's why I only brought two people. I'll have Luther find two more so they can supervise each other," Cecelia analyzed. "There was almost an incident before. It's better to be cautious. With you giving birth early, some things were unprepared for, and we didn't have time to find people. While the babies are still in the incubator, let's rush to do background checks. We aim to have staff in place by the time the babies return home."

Luther agreed.

Joyce's brows furrowed. "I understand."
