Opening the car door with one hand, Damien threw Ava into the car without bothering to be gentle at all. As he slammed the car door shut, he said coldly, "Fasten your seat belt!"
Ava immediately hummed in acknowledgment. She didn't retort, which was rare, and fastened her seat belt obediently.
Damien started the car, and the atmosphere in the car was extremely strange.
Ava stared at the scenery outside the window, and there were complicated emotions in her heart.
This was the first time that she and Damien had spent time together without quarrelling.
However, the atmosphere was so quiet that it made her uncomfortable all over.
After having an internal struggle throughout the journey, Ava finally mustered up the courage to break the silence.
"Where are we going?"
Damien stared at the road ahead, focused on driving. He didn't answer her question immediately.
Ava was a little frustrated. She bit her lower
lip and was about to ask him just to bring her home when he suddenly stopped the car.
He then said coldly, "Get out of the car."
Ava didn't say a word. She opened the door and got out of the car.
Her ankle still hurt, and she limped all the way.
After talking a few steps forward, she realized that Damien's car didn't drive past her at all. She turned and saw that his car was still where it was just now.
Why wasn't he leaving?
Was he staying there to laugh at her limping?
There was a surge of anger in Ava's chest. She quickened her pace and took a few more steps forward when she realized with a start that there was a hospital by the roadside.
Damien had parked the car at the entrance of the hospital and told her to get out. Moreover, he didn't leave.
Was he... Was he telling her to seek treatment for her ankle injury while he waited for her outside?
Was that it?
Could she be mistaken?
Ava was surprised and doubtful at the same time.
