Eileen said, "I can call Ruben and ask him to come here to explain everything to you. Don't you know me well?"
Luke stared at her and said, "Didn't you say that you were willing to marry him for repaying him and the sense of guilt?"
She nodded, "I said so indeed! I said that on purpose because I wanted to deceive you! I'm a human, not a stone. After you did so many things for me, how could I hurt your heart? How could I choose to marry Ruben at such a time? Didn't you feel that it was too sudden?"
Luke said, "If one falls in love, it's not surprising whatever one does." Luke's heart beat fast. What she had said took him by surprise. He was at a loss and didn't know what to do.
Eileen felt helpless.
Luke's gaze became deep and meaningful gradually. He became serious and said, "So you deceived me in such a way?"
Eileen said, "I knew that you hated being deceived and Merlin's disease was your taboo, but I had no other choice! I deceived you. You believed and left decisively."
She explained, "I didn't know my position in your heart, but you loved Brad very much."
Luke sneered and sat there in silence.
Inside his pockets, he was patting his thighs rhythmically.
When he was happy, he always did that.
His anger for being deceived had vanished without a trace.
It was rare for him to hear her say so. After all, he had been totally deceived by her!
Eileen said, "You still don’t believe me? Or you are still angry with me? You have just held on several months after you expressed your feelings to me. How long have I held on after I expressed my feelings to you?"
