A Contract Marriage After a ONS novel Chapter 1673

One evening Charlie stepped on the narrow balcony, which was high that standing on it was a little disconcerting because there was nothing to hold on to.

Charlie took a deep breath and held it, moving little by little on it.

It was actually dangerous. If he wouldn't be careful, he might even fall to death.

But that was his only way to see Grace, so he had to try!

Coincidentally, Andrew stood by the window with a glass of wine to get some air.

Suddenly, he was aware of a light coming on and looked over with a frown.

He stared for a long time and found Charlie was moving on the balcony. Then he shouted, "Hey! What are you doing?”

Andrew’s sudden voice made Charlie miss his footing and fall in a cold sweat!

Then Grace woke up to her Samoyed dog’s barks and other noises.

When she came out of the villa and turned on the lights, she saw Charlie lying on the ground miserably and gripping his teeth tightly.

He clung to his legs in pain and could not move. There was no doubt that his legs must have been broken.

At the outset, Grace tended to ignore him. Yet, she finally called a doctor because he seemed to be badly hurt.

The doctor frowned after the examination and said, "Lucky you! It's all right except that you broke your leg. How could you be so careless? You have to stay in bed for at least a month.”

When Charlie heard about that, his face changed immediately.

'Stay in bed for a month? Then how can I see Grace?’

'God, now, it's impossible for me to stand up, let alone anything else.'

His face took on a ghastly expression!

Then, Andrew came in with a glass of wine, swirling wine in the glass and looking at the ripples in it. "Does that hurt?" Andrew asked in a sarcastic tone.

Charlie frowned and stared at him, "You did that on purpose, didn’t you?" "Oh, how can you say that, Mr. Morgan? Do you know what time it is? You sneaked on my house's balcony! I thought it was the thief. Anyway, I just shouted casually. How could you fall? You were guilty, weren't you?"

Charlie couldn't refute. He was incandescent with rage that his chest heaved.

"Your legs must be hurting you." Andrew maintained a sarcastic tone, squinting with some glee.

Charlie ignored him.

The doctor packed up his things to leave. Leaning against the door, Grace looked at Charlie and said, "I think you’d better hire a nurse to take care of you."

Looking at his legs, Charlie thought Grace's advice was exactly right. It was inconvenient for him to be alone in the villa.

Thinking for a while, he looked up at Grace.

Although he said nothing, it was clear that he wanted Grace to help him find a nurse.
