A Vengeful Bride novel Chapter 114

Mark's sarcastic words made my mind empty. I opened my eyes wide and couldn't say a word. I could only look at Mark in a daze with my lips trembling constantly.

He looked at me and threw away the oil jar in his hand sarcastically. He took out a lighter and said, "Ashley, you silly woman, you're really stupid."

"You are talking nonsense!" I was stimulated by his words. I got up from the ground with angry eyes and bumped into his body.

Mark was hit by me on the mountain wall. He looked at me with anger and slapped me in the face.

I sat down on the ground, and my face was pale. There was a stinging pain on my cheeks.

"Ashley, enjoy yourself."

Mark's crazy voice sounded in my ear. I watched him throw down the lighter, and the fire instantly lighted the whole hole.

I was surrounded by those flames.

I didn't move for a long time. When the fire approached my body, I seemed to go crazy and wanted to escape from here.

However, the thick smoke outside the cave was sucked into my nose, making me feel uncomfortable all over my body. I couldn't help but cough. I gritted my teeth. Looking at the ropes which tied my hands, I put my hands in the fire and roasted the ropes. There was a little heat coming from my wrists.

After I untied myself, I held my belly and wanted to leave here.

However, the fire was getting bigger and bigger. I let out a cry and I could only be forced into the cave.

What should I do? Who could save me?

I was forced to a corner, and the smoke kept rushing to me. I was going to be driven crazy by the smoke.

Holding my belly, I lowered my head with a wry smile and whispered, "Baby, I'm sorry. I'm afraid that mommy can't give birth to you."

It was all my fault. I was too stupid.

I slowly closed my eyes, waiting for the fire to swallow me whole.

I inhaled a lot of smoke, and my body was getting weaker and weaker. My consciousness gradually became blurred.

I saw that the fire began to spread around me, and when it was about to burn my whole body, I was not afraid and did not cry.

I held my belly and bent my body like a shrimp, quietly waiting for the fire to burn me.

"Ashley..."

Who was it? Who was calling me? Don't call me, I felt so uncomfortable... There was a smell of burnt meat in my nose. It was very unpleasant to smell. There was also the sound of a raging fire. I thought that I was dead.

"Ashley, don't sleep!"

I heard the voice again. It was like a ghost that was haunting me.

I was so impatient that I wanted to reach out my hand to get rid of the annoying voice, but I felt that I had no strength at all.

No strength at all? What happened to me?

I slowly opened my eyes and saw a blurry handsome face. It was dark all around, and there were birds and unknown insects chirping.

With a hoarse voice, I said weakly, "Edward?"

Why was he be here? Was I dead?

"Don't be afraid. I'll take you to the hospital right away. We'll arrive at the hospital soon."

Edward held me and crazily ran on the road. I looked at him weakly. I didn't even have the strength to push him away.

My body was shaking, and my mind went blank.

"Don't sleep. Hey, don't sleep."

"I will take you out of here. Don't be afraid. My name is Ashley. What's your name?"

"My name is Betty."

"My name is Edward. Do you really have a way to get out of here?"

"Of course, you can just listen to me later. You are injured and having a high fever. I will take you back." "All right."

Who was talking? It was so noisy...

"Ashley."

"Ah!"

"Ashley..."

My body was falling down. It was so uncomfortable. What was going on? What on earth was going on with the feeling of falling to the bottom of the valley?

I felt as if I had been pushed off a cliff. My body kept falling down, all the way down...

I was so scared that I couldn't help but scream, "Ah."

"Ashley!"

I sat up on the bed, and my forehead was covered with sweat. I was held tightly by an unusually warm embrace. I heard the strong heartbeat of the person.

I raised my head weakly and

saw Edward's handsome face.

He touched my face and asked worriedly, "What's wrong with you?"

"Edward?" I looked at him. It was a long while later before I could speak.

Edward said happily, "It's good that you're fine."

He said it three times and then hugged me tightly. I felt a little uncomfortable when I was held so tightly by him.

I pushed his body helplessly and frowned in discomfort, "Where... is here?" "This is the hospital in the town. Our car was out of gas and I had no way to return to the urban area, so I took you to the clinic here to rest."

Edward gently caressed my hair and said to me.

"My child..." I touched my belly in a panic and looked at him with some fear.

Seeing me like this, Edward shook his head helplessly and said, "Don't worry, the child is fine, and you are also fine. But you were burned, and you will recover soon."

Upon hearing his words, I couldn't help but let out a sigh of relief.
