A Vengeful Bride novel Chapter 120

"When will you stop? No matter what you do, Edward won't love you. All these years, I never mind the bad things you have done. Now you want to kill people? Do you really want to piss me off?" Scott looked at Betty disappointedly.

"Do you like Ashley so much? I am your daughter, and now you are helping her to hit

me?" Betty covered her face and shouted at Scott.

Scott said with helplessness and sadness in her eyes, "Bring her back to the hospital."

She glanced at Betty, turned around, and ordered the bodyguards behind her.

Those people grabbed Betty's hands. When they were about to take her away, Betty glared at me with resentment and roared at me, "Ashley Mu, remember, I won't let you go like this!"

Listening to Betty's shrill voice, I felt my ears uncomfortable.

I looked at the look of Betty being taken away unhappily, and my heart suddenly sank.

Betty was insane, and she should be locked up in a psychiatric hospital.

"Ashley, can I have a word with you?" Scott looked at me and her eyes were still as gentle as before.

I glanced at Betty. I had no way to refuse Scott's request, so I nodded gently.

In the living room. I put the coffee in front of Scott and watched her drink the coffee. Then I said lightly, "What do you want to say to me?"

"In the past few years, Betty has been spoiled by us. She is a stubborn child, and her way of doing things is a little extreme. She loves Edward very much."

"I know." I looked at Scott and agreed with what she said.

Of course, I knew that she was very jealous and possessive about Edward.

However, Betty was so extreme that she did so many horrible things.

"I'm sorry for what Betty had done to you. It's all because I didn't teach her well. That's why she acted so recklessly."

Scott apologized to me.

I glanced at Betty and shook my head faintly, "You don't have to apologize to me. This is Betty's fault. It has nothing to do with you."

"Although Betty has done lots of bad things, in the final analysis, it's all my fault. Betty is my daughter. I don't know why she became like this. Maybe it's because... Edward said those words when she was 18 years old."

When she was 18 years old?

I looked at Scott in a daze, not knowing what she meant.

"Edward once told Betty that he fell in love with another woman, and he was very sorry for Betty."

As Scott said this, she looked at me. I felt uncomfortable under her gaze.

I didn't think the woman Edward said that he fell in love with was me.

"Betty was very angry that day. From then on, she became eccentric and wanted to commit suicide. I asked a clinical psychologist to check her up. The doctor said that Betty had some mental problems with depression. So we have been spoiling her these years. As long as she wants to do something, her father and I won't interfere with her."

Betty was insane.

I scold her in my heart. I didn't say it out loud in front of Scott. I just quietly listened to her words.

"When you and Edward got married, I knew it. That day, Betty called Edward crazily and asked him to accompany her. I knew that Edward was a man of feeling. Betty saved him when they were young, and they were playmates in childhood. Edward was cold to every woman, but he took good care of Betty."

I listened to Scott's words, and there was a little bitterness in my eyes.

I had seen Edward take care of Betty more than once. At that time, I was really very envious of Betty.

"Miss Mu, do you know what happened that day?" Scott looked at me with sadness on her face.

My heartbeat so fast. I've heard of this from Edward back then. Was it true?

At that time, I heard from Edward that he compromised again and again because he had no way to refuse Betty. However, he was with Betty again, so I thought that he was lying to me. According to what Scott said, was what he said true?

"It seems that Edward has told you before."

"It's true. After that, Betty's mood became more and more unstable. That's why you and Edward had been married for so long, but Edward had always been with Betty because of guilt. But I know that Edward doesn't love Betty."

"Mrs. Fang." I didn't want to listen anymore. Whether Edward loved Betty or not, he had already chosen her. The fates conspire against me. I wouldn't blame anyone, and I didn't want to blame anyone.

I interrupted Scott and said indifferently, "I know what you want to say. No matter whether Edward is guilty of Betty or not, it's impossible for him and me to be together again. Besides, Betty is his wife now. I won't ruin their marriage. I'm not Betty and I don't like to be a mistress."

I said directly to Scott.

Scott's face turned a little pale. She reached out and took my hand and said, "Ashley, you're really a good girl."

As she said, she took a deep look at me and then left.

After she left, I sat alone on the sofa and looked out of the window for a long time.
