A Vengeful Bride novel Chapter 196

The only possibility was...

"Do you suspect that William Xiao took Ashe away?" I told Justin about my analysis. After he heard it, his eyes slightly sank.

"Now, he is the only one who hates me and Edward. I suspect that it was William who took Ashe away."

I looked at Justin and said blandly.

"William has escaped, and my assistants can't find where he is. Don't worry, I'll help you find Ashe."

Justin took a deep look at me and left.

After he left, I sat alone on the sofa, holding the pillow in a daze.

William had escaped from everyone's sight. Where on earth was he hiding? William was a very scheming person. He must have taken Ashe away to deal with me and Edward.

"Ashley." I was thinking about Ashe and couldn't fall asleep. When I was in a daze in the middle of the night, I heard that someone was calling me.

When I opened my eyes, I saw Edward who had just come back.

"Edward." Seeing his handsome and familiar face, I couldn't control my emotions anymore and burst into tears.

"Don't cry." Edward wiped my tears with his rough fingers and said in a deep voice. I sniffed and buried my cheeks in his chest. Then I said, "I can't find Ashe. I'm so scared."

"I will find our son. Stop crying."

Edward kissed my eyelids and said in a cold voice.

"I'm afraid that something bad will happen to him." I looked at Edward and said with tears in my eyes.

Ever since I knew that Ashe was lost, I had been crying, and my eyes were painful and very uncomfortable.

Edward sighed, and he said to me grimly, "Ashley, listen carefully. Ashe is my son. Nothing will happen to him. If you keep crying, I'll teach you a lesson."

"Really?" I looked at Edward sadly and asked.

"I promise."

Edward held my body tightly and said again.

"I believe you, Edward."

Edward said that Ashe would be fine, and Ashe would definitely be fine.

Ashe, don't be afraid. Mom and dad would save you soon.

The next day, Justin told me that he didn't find any clues, so I was a little desperate.

Both Justin and Edward's assistants were looking for Ashe. However, they couldn't find him in the whole city.

The third day, the fourth day...

Scott cried every day. Not only should I comfort her, but also should I comfort myself. Until a week later, I heard that a child's dead body was retrieved on the northern beach of the city. Because his face was unrecognizable, the police asked me to identify if it was the child we lost.

"No... It's definitely not my Ashe!"

Lying in Edward's arms, I shouted at the policeman who informed me.

The policeman seemed to be scared by my heart-wrenching roar. He said to Edward in a dilemma, "G.M.Xi, I just came here to tell you this news. I hope you can cooperate with us. Because the child is quite similar to what you described."

I see.

Edward took a deep look at the policeman. After the policeman left, he turned to look at me.

"Ashley, let's go and have a look."

"Edward." I shook my head in horror.

I didn't want to see it. That child was definitely not my Ashe.

"At least we have to confirm it, right?"

Edward touched my eyes and said softly.

I looked at Edward with red eyes and could only nod in sorrow.

Edward was right. Whether the child was Ashe or not, we needed to confirm it.

Edward asked the driver to send us to the northern beach.

When we got there, there were a lot of people on the beach. After seeing me and Edward coming over, they left and looked at us with sad eyes.

The police officer who was in charge of this case came over and introduced the child to us, "This child is about one year old. He is a boy, but he may have been immersed in the sea for too long. His face is unrecognizable. We can only ask you to come and make sure if he is the child you lost."

My fingers shook, and my whole body couldn't help but tremble violently.

Noticing the change in my mood, Edward lowered his head and kissed my earlobe, "Ashley, calm down."

Edward's kiss made me calm down. I walked towards the dead body with him.

Before seeing it, the police officer asked us to be prepared. When I really saw the body, I was scared.

"He died a terrible death. Do you have any impression of his clothes?" The forensic expert covered the dead body with a piece of white cloth and asked Edward.

"No, it's not Ashe." I leaned against Edward's arms and shook my head at the forensic expert who was talking.

"Are you sure?" The forensic expert didn't expected that I would shake my head so firmly, and he asked in surprise.
