A Vengeful Bride novel Chapter 26

"I know, but I like you. It doesn't matter whether you are divorced or not." William looked at me and repeated, "I like you, just because you are Ashley, who I have been thinking about for so many years."

“All that I'm thinking of is my job, sorry, but I'm not able to consider a new relationship by now,” I spoke carefully, trying not to hurt William.

William was very considerate. He just ruffled my hair with a pampering smile, said gently, "I know, I just can't help telling you today. I'm a little bit drunk, I don't want to make you upset. You could tell me anything if you want. I wish I could be the first one you trust. I will always behind you."

His words were very sincere, I was so touched that my eyes were full of tears.

However, I knew that this emotion wasn't loved, it was just moving.

Then William sent me home and left.

I sat alone in the empty living room and thought for a long time. It was not until the heavy snow began to fall outside the window that I came to my senses.

I walked to the window in a trance and opened the curtains. Looking at the white snow outside the window, I gently moved my lips and showed a bitter and helpless smile.

My love for Edward was like the snow, at first, it would accumulate more and more and gradually become heavier and heavier. I couldn't carry it, but soon, it would melt. After melting, there would be endless sadness and coldness.

"Ding-a-ding"

"Ashley, open the door."

"Oh." In the middle of the night, when I was sleeping in a daze, I heard the doorbell seemed to ring. I rubbed my eyes and slowly got up from the bed.

I took out my mobile phone in the cabinet and yawned. It was only three o'clock in the morning. I walked out of the room in a daze and opened the door, whispering, "Who is it? It's midnight. Can you let me sleep?"

A cold wind suddenly rushed toward me and made me shiver.

I bit my lips, and my teeth were trembling. My chaotic brain was clear in an instant.

However, there was no one at the door at all.

Was that a dream? I scratched the back of my head, closed the door, and turned off the light to sleep.

When I woke up the next day, there was a thick layer of snow at the door. On the snow, there were several deep footprints, showing that someone had been standing at my door for a long time.

I looked at the footprints in a daze, slowly pulled the corner of my mouth, and finally closed the door and left.

Because of the snowy day, it’s hard to take a taxi. I stood at the bottom of the bus station, wearing a furry coat. Rubbing my frozen face, I waited for half an hour and did not find a bus.

I checked the time, there were only ten minutes to go to work. So I had no choice but to walk to the company.

Walking halfway, I saw a black car that was following me and then stopped beside me.

I knew this car. It should be said that I was too familiar with this car.

"Ashley, get in the car, I'll drop you." After the car window fell down, Edward's cold face was revealed.

Seeing him, I was nervous, my fingers were a bit trembled.

I narrowed my eyes and shook my head lightly. "There's no need to bother you. I can walk on my own."

I didn't want to contact him anymore. It wasn't an escape, I think it's time to move on.

"Get in the car." Edward narrowed his dark and cold eyes, and his imposing manner directly rushed to me.

The coldness in his voice and the chilling weather made me tremble.

We stood on the road, staring at each other, not giving in.

Finally, Edward looked away first. I rubbed my sore eyes and was about to leave but he opened the door and pulled me into the car.

"Edward, what are you doing?" I was irritated by his aggressive action. I raised my head and said with anger.

With a cold face, Edward said with a bit of stubbornness and indifference in his eyes, "Shut up."

I was choked and blushed, but I had nowhere to vent my anger.

After the car started slowly, I angrily moved my head away. Looking at the wind outside the window, my body was very tense.

"Ashley, don't get close to William."

After a long time, I heard the deep and cold voice of Edward. When he was talking about William, his voice seemed to be a little lower.

Wasn't William and Edward schoolmates in college? Why did Edward seem to dislike William?

However, this feeling of being restrained made me very uncomfortable.

The relationship between me and William had nothing to do with him."
