Edward touched my hair and said softly.
"Okay, I believe that he will accept me soon."
I lay in Edward's arms quietly for a while.
After a short nap, I woke up and Edward had already gone to the study. I rubbed my eyes and looked at the time. It was half past nine at night. Ashe may have gone to bed.
I used to prepare a glass of hot milk for Ashe before he went to bed every day, he could sleep better in this way.
I got up and went downstairs to made a glass of hot milk. Then I took the milk and went to his bedroom.
When I walked to the door, I heard the sound of someone talking inside. Was there someone in his room?
I gently pushed open the door and saw Ashe who was lying on the bed and quietly listening to Ethel's story. His delicate face looked exceptionally cute under the dim light.
Looking at Ashe, my eyes were filled with tears.
I clenched my fist and took a deep breath. With a particularly gentle voice, I said to him, "Ashe, I'm here to send you milk."
"Ah..." After Ashe saw me, he screamed, hugged Ethel and began to tremble. Looking at him, I felt a sharp pain in my heart.
I stepped forward and tried to hug him, but Ethel pushed me away.
"Ashley, please don't get close to Ashe."
Ethel's face looked deliberately indifferent under the light.
When I heard her words, I frowned and said, "Ethel, he is my son."
I didn't like it when Ethel held Ashe in her arms. It felt like she was going to take away my child.
"But, Ashe is afraid of you now."
Ethel looked at me with her beautiful eyes and said with ridicule, "Ashley, you should know clearly what you have done. I believe that the police will find you soon."
"Ethel, what do you mean?"
Her sharp words made me very dissatisfied.
I put on a cold face, clenched my fists, looked at Ethel and asked coldly.
"Nothing. I just hope you can understand that Ashe is very afraid of you and he doesn't want to see you."
"Don't forget, this is my home."
Ethel's words made me very uncomfortable.
But she just held Ashe in her arms and comforted him like a mother, "Ashe, let's go to another room to sleep."
Without any resistance, Ashe hugged Ethel's neck and left with her. I was stiff all over and watched Ashe leave with Ethel, but I couldn't do anything about it.
Ashe, I was your mother. Didn't you remember me?
The next day, in order to hold the birthday party for the Ashe, I carefully decorated the villa and asked the servants to prepare the flour for me. I wanted to make birthday noodles for Ashe.
I had never spent so much effort on his birthdays. I wanted Ashe to have a hard-to-for-get birthday.
After everything was done, I untied the apron and planned to get a plate of fruit to decorate the noodles.
Cornelia came to help me. Seeing that I was so tired, she complained to me, "Sunny, Ethel is really getting more and more annoying. When you were not here, I came here to play with Ashe and saw her kiss Edward secretly. What does she mean? I warned her many times. She pretended not to understand and always said that Edward is hers."
"Well, I admit. She saved Edward. However, she always seduces Edward, which is really disgusting."
Cornelia's words made me unhappier.
I clenched my fists, bit my lips and said calmly, "I will send Ethel abroad in a few days."
If she knew many other men, maybe she wouldn't pester Edward anymore.
"What's more, Sunny, when you were not here, there was a woman who often pestered Edward. Her name is Miriam. I heard that she is the daughter of the Helan Group. From time to time, she used the excuse of work to find Edward. I have seen her twice. She looks flirty. I'm really worried that Edward will be seduced by her."
"I believe Edward."
I had seen so many beautiful women, so did Edward.
Edward would never betray me because of a beautiful woman.
At six o'clock in the evening, after I decorated everything, I looked at Ashe expectantly.
He was hugged by Edward and dressed in a very cute gentleman's suit. He looked like a delicate porcelain doll.
When facing others, he was very happy, but he seemed to be very resistant to me.
Looking at him, I felt a trace of sadness in my heart.
Was he still afraid of me?
No matter what I did, Ashe remembered what happened that day.
Because he was just a child, and the scene that day was so bloody, it was reasonable for him to be so scared.
