Caspian directed a question at him, "Larry, I heard that Jake had helped Joan out of the nasty situation where she was surrounded by onlookers in the mall. Don't you think it's only reasonable for her to buy him a meal to return the favor?"
Suddenly, Larry went dead silent. Although Caspian's words made complete sense, he couldn't help feeling infuriated when he saw them together.
Knowing what Larry was concerned about, Jessica chimed in, "But they haven't done anything, have they? So what are you so angry about?"
She knew the man had a huge tendency to overthink things whenever Joan was involved. That said, it wasn't actually a bad thing.
After all, Joan had been through all sorts of ups and downs in her life, so she deserved to have a caring man by her side.
"Alright, just calm down. I'm leaving now."
Having said that, Jessica prepared to leave the office.
"Hey, hold on! Della needs someone to guide her. I don't think it's appropriate for me to meet her in her office. Can you head over on my behalf?" Larry stopped Jessica before she could make her way out.
Excuse me? Is he seriously expecting me to guide that damned woman? No way! We have never seen eye to eye! I will never give in to his request!
"Sorry, but please send someone else over to guide her," Jessica turned him down without a second thought. I don't mind if someone else
helps her, but I definitely won't do it.
Larry was well aware of the grudge Jessica held against Della. "Jessica, she has already turned over a new leaf. Don't you think she deserves another chance?"
Oh really? Even though Joan was almost dead because of her? Forget about it. I don't need a friend like her!Besides, I don't intend to get involved with those from the upper echelon. After all, I'm just an ordinary entrepreneur, and I can't afford to offend those bigshots.
Larry headed over to the couch and sat down before he took a sip of tea.
He knew it would be challenging to get others to accept Della because of the things she had done. However, he still hoped that they would give Della another chance.
