Joan frowned as she studied Larry in confusion. Is he angry because I had lunch with Jake?
Joan jogged over to him and sat beside him with a smile.
"I encountered a minor incident at the mall today, and Jake was there coincidentally, so he helped me out."
At that moment, Larry's phone rang.
He instantly picked up his phone from the table and walked toward the balcony to take the call.
"Noted. I'll be there right away." He hung up his phone, took his coat from the couch, and strode out the room.
"Where are you going?" yelled Joan.
"I'm returning to the company. I won't be back tonight, so don't wait up for me," Larry replied loudly.
Did something happen to Norton
Corporation? Joan stared at his leaving figure wistfully. Although she desperately wanted to explain herself, the timing was bad.
It's fine. I'll explain to him next time.
"What happened?" Larry asked as he entered the office.
"Larry, they sent this over." Caspian passed a document to Larry.
"We had previously sent people over to discuss the possibility of collaboration, but they rejected us outright. So why would they approach us all of a sudden?" Larry asked as he flipped through the document.
"I'm not too sure, but there's something fishy about it." Caspian was certain that there was a catch somewhere. There was no way businesses would be offered to your doorstep for no gain.
Larry was of the same mind as him, but he wanted to find out what their motive was.
