Meanwhile, everyone was shocked at the turn of events. No one expected Lisa to come up with such a tactic.
Suddenly, Jessica felt awkward.
"Whatever that's going on between you and Caspian has nothing to do with me." Just as she spoke, she shoved Lisa away and walked into the ward.
When she saw Joan lying on the bed, she couldn't help but feel depressed at how ironic things were. After all, both she and Joan were going through the same experience.
"Is that woman here again?" Suddenly, Joan gradually opened her eyes. Just when Jessica was about to inform the rest that Joan was awake, Joan grabbed onto her arm.
"Don't move. Let them continue arguing," Joan suggested weakly.
Jessica sympathized with how exhausted Joan looked.
Jessica pushed aside the fringes on Joan's forehead as she asked with concern, "Joan, what happened? How did you get yourself kidnapped?"
Indeed, how did it happen? Joan closed her eyes gradually as tears flowed down her cheeks. The moment she recalled the voice she heard in the car, she was overwhelmed with disappointment.
When Jessica realized that Joan seemed to know the truth. She was all ears and waited eagerly for what Joan was about to say next. However, before Joan could say another word, she fell asleep instead.
"Why isn't she awake yet?" Larry murmured anxiously.
"Why don t all of you go back first while I watch over her here," Jessica suggested calmly.
Despite what she said, Larry felt that it was his responsibility as Joan's boyfriend to watch over her.
He quickly walked up to Jessica and patted her on the shoulder. "You should head home first. After shopping for the whole day, you must be tired. I'll be fine by myself."
As one was the woman he loved and the other was his godsister, he didn't want them to be exposed to any danger.
"Larry, why don't I stay?" Caspian suggested loudly.
