"You're so forgetful, Ms. Chipman. Don't you remember me?" the man hollered.
Abelyn's eyes widened as she studied the man carefully. All of a sudden, her eyes lit up as she thought of something.
Huh? Why is he here?! thought he has already left the country? What is he doing here?
"Ms. Chipman, you forgot to transfer the rest of the payment to me," the man reminded her angrily. "You promised to transfer the money to my account after I did everything, but I didn't receive a cent from you!"
What the hell? Abelyn gave the man a look full of disdain.
"What's wrong? Did you forget to do so? Well, I haven't. When will you pay me the remaining five hundred grand?" the man cut to the chase and demanded.
Five hundred grand?Where will I get the money from?
"You failed the task miserably, so I won't be paying you," Abelyn answered and clenched her teeth helplessly. At that point, she no longer cared for her dignity due to the circumstances.
The man flew into a fit of anger upon hearing her rejection. "Aren't you afraid I'll spill everything?"
Hmm?Afraid? Abelyn's lips curled up in a smirk. Nonsense. When have I ever been afraid?
"If you refuse to pay me, don't blame me for taking action."
"What are you going to do? Let me go!" Abelyn struggled and yelled.
"Have you found her?"
In the hospital, Joan was glancing at Dustin anxiously. In response, Dustin shook his head gloomily.
Why did she disappear all of a sudden? Concern flashed across Joan's gaze.
