Alpha Alexander novel Chapter 2

Alexander:

“What do you mean she’s gone?” I asked Carter, my best friend and beta, glaring at him.

“We couldn’t find her at her house. I knocked a few times, and when she didn’t respond, I broke the door down, but she wasn’t there…”

“Find her” I said, stopping him. He nodded and ran out to follow my order, knowing that I wasn’t joking around at this point.

My girlfriend, Delilah, frowned when she saw my concern; however, she didn’t know that Scarlett was my mate. She didn’t know that I rejected her for her over a month ago.

“She left, why are you upset about it?” She asked, crossing her arms over her chest as she walked toward me. Her blonde hair, and brown eyes met my green ones, and shaking my head at her I walked past her without saying a word. I tried catching her scent, but it was nowhere to be found, and being the pack’s orphan, and omega, I knew that losing her would only anger my father.

“I am talking to you, Alex” Delilah said, wrapping her hand around my arm, stopping me. I growled in warning, forcing her to let go, and shaking her head in question, Delilah tried processing what just happened.

“I do not care about her; however, if my father finds out that she is lost, I am in for more trouble than I want to handle. The two of us know how much he cares about her, and we both know that he would go head over heels when he finds out about this…”

“She left on her own. You can’t possibly be blamed for that, Alex” I took a deep breath, forcing myself not to respond as I knew that she didn’t just leave because she wanted to. I knew that watching me with Delilah broke her more than she let out, and seeing as she didn’t say a word about it, I eventually knew that she would collapse; however, I didn’t really expect her to leave.

“Delilah, can you please leave me alone to think? For crying out fucking loud, just give me my space…”

“I am your girlfriend, and I don’t think that watching you get worried over another woman should be something that I allow” Delilah snapped, stopping me. I sighed and turned around to face her. I cupped her cheeks and made her look at me, quickly leaning in to peck her lips. The kiss felt different, and not a good different, much like the other kisses that we’ve been sharing since that night.

“My gorgeous neonata, you know that the last thing I want right now is for you to be upset; but I really have to find her before we’ve gotten in trouble with father” I said, gently running my finger over her jawline. Delilah sighed but nodded, allowing me to take a step back without complaining this time.

I tried to catch her scent, knowing that since she was my mate, rejected or not, the bond between us was still unbreakable, especially since I never marked my chosen mate, or in other words, my girlfriend.
