"What exactly did your girlfriend tell you?" she asked.

Elijah was taken aback. He hadn't gone to see Sarah yet.

He had called Violette first, furious after listening to the recording.

"Violette, I'm talking to you! Don't change the subject!" His tone became even more serious.

As Violette listened to his scolding, her anger grew: "Isn't the truth obvious? I burned your girlfriend's hand with hot water! Tell her to stay away from me whenever she sees me, or I'll splash hot water on her face!"

Violette: "Why aren't you saying anything? Weren't you going to defend your girlfriend?"
