“Why are you bothered about how I made my money? Your job is only to care for our child, not me!” she retorted, pushing against his chest.

“I care for you because I care for our child!” He stood his ground. His eyes were intensifying. “As long as our baby is in your belly, I have every right to worry!”

Violette found his argument ludicrous but couldn’t come up with a better retort. “I was a private physician, paid generously for my services,” she didn’t exactly lie.

The two billion was payment given to Sarah by Elijah, but it wasn’t Sarah who had treated Makayla. Therefore, she demanded the money from Sarah. She had no qualms about taking the money.

“Who?” He was skeptical. “Who paid you such a high amount?!”
