At the end of the album, an envelope was tucked inside it.
Freya knew roughly how much money was in it by just touching it. It was not a lot, but it was not a small amount either.
"It's Dani’s pocket money for the new year from me, her uncle," Ryan explained. "This is her first New Year's Day. This is the least I should do."
Since he put it that way, Freya could not decline. After all, Dani was indeed his niece.
"Ryan, no matter what, thank you." She turned her head and said with a serious gaze.
"You're welcome."
Ryan took a blue bracelet out from his pocket. "This is a bracelet with a lucky charm. Next year might be an unlucky year for you. Wearing this will improve your luck. It wasn't expensive. You're not allowed to refuse i t."
He put it on her wrist after speaking.
It was really not expensive. There was just a small apple made of pure gold hanging in the middle of the bracelet. The style was plain, but it was thoughtful.
Freya remembered her mom mentioning that it would be an unlucky year for her next year. Her mom told her to wear more clothes and things with her lucky color, which was blue. Before she could buy anything, Ryan gave her this.
"I still have something to show you."
Ryan pulled her over to sit down. He entered a moneymanaging application on his phone. "Didn’t you say you don't know enough about me? This is all the money I have. There are stocks, funds, and some treasury bonds..."
Freya was caught off guard. She saw everything. She was stunned and wanted to push his phone away.
However, Ryan did not give her the chance to do so. H e even typed his bank password in front of her and let her see his savings inside. "This is my savings... This i s my pay card... This is the money I earned from investing with some classmates and friends overseas. I definitely don’t earn as much as you do, but it’s still enough for me to marry a woman and pay for my children's education.
"This is my phone's password. I can input your fingerprint as well. You can look at my phone anytime you want," Ryan said.
"No need. Enough. Stop." Freya kept withdrawing her hands as she was startled.
"Do you think you understand me enough now? Can you start trusting me?”
